Damian plays flat out awful defense. Even in the Olympics Pop isnt playing Dame late in the 4th. Is he really in a position to demand a trade? I love Damain but jeez he may not be the caliber of player to lead a team to a championship.
 
USA needs to give Jokic citizenship, that’s who they really need as a starting center.

Who is he to demand a trade wanting better defense when he cant even defend 50 year old Sergio? Maybe we should trade him from a treasure trove of picks and young talent.

Dame has played very good defense, and has finished the other games. He was flat tonight.
 
Dame isn't a good defender... that's not news. The fact is he isn't used to trying to get it going and then deferring for long periods of time. The team has their "bigs" bringing the ball up a lot. If Dame doesn't have a rhythm on offense his defense is even worse. Despite all of these things he's still one of the top six or seven players in the NBA.

Some of you just wait to talk shit on anyone you can, it's pretty pathetic.
 
No one was stopping Rubio tonight. Also once Rubio went all in on himself, they stopped sharing the ball, the early passing and off ball movement was what got Spain that lead. Me ball killed it.
 
Once Dame plays in an offense that produces better looks and spreads out the scoring load a bit more, and he doesn't have to save all his energy for hero ball night in and night out, he will be able to exert more defensive effort and his defense should improve.
 
Fiba rules are silly. You barely touch a guy, foul. Get pushed in the back on a shot, no foul. Those unsportsman penalties are serious weak stuff too. But i do like the knock the ball off the rim when a shot bounces off the rim.

Ha. No. He played bad tonight. That is a fact. If he played well most of us would have been happy and saying hell yeah.

Damian was flat out awful on both sides tonight. In an extremely important and high pressure game. If Durant played like he did he would never hear the end of it. If you think Damian is on the level of durant in that he is the lead pice to a championship contender he needs to be held to the same criticism. His "offensive rhythm" is off so its okay is defense sucks is not a good excuse for a player of his perceived statue.

Durant is just on another level. He might be the best player in the NBA right now. Definitely top 2.

His passing was good. He had 4 assist and should have had more but perfect passes were bobbled at the rim. He was 4 of 10 from the field. Lets not act like he was 4 of 20. But it was a flat performance, and he can do better. But Flat out awful, uh...No! Sounds like you're Dame trollin' Frogger.

He wasn't flat out awful on offense. I watched the game. He missed two or three shots he should have made... that's all he did wrong. He had four assists and no turnovers. So believe me when I say you are trying to find reasons to shit on him. Then to try to project your misperceptions from tonight's game onto Dame's entire value as a ball player and say how you don't know if he's good enough to be demanding better teammates. Come on. If you don't know that you're just a hater, then that's sad.

he was benched to end the game for a reason... sounds like you don't like to hear any criticism of Damian. For the fact I'm a fan and really like him.

He was flat and with his defensive skill set or rather lack of defensive skills, he can't afford to come out flat on D. That's the truth but to generalize that not only falsely to both sides of the court in this game but generalizing it to his overall worth as a ball player in the NBA... that was a huge stretch. Why make a huge stretch to shit on the best player we've ever had and one of the highest character superstars the game has seen?

I can't criticism him at all? he was bad in this game and got benched in the 4th because of it. It was embarrassing.

Oh. So I guess ranking all time greats is stupid. Might as well sit around a campfire and sing kumbaya and give them all participation trophies.

Dame is awesome. You're being a homer if you don't like hearing Durant is better than Dame.
 
Nothing motivates someone like Dame more than being benched. Guarantee this will make him a better player, and maybe something he needed in his career. Great part is Pop did it, Chauncey had to love this.
 
Australia couldn’t hit wide open shots in the first quarter, and Argentina hit everything with hands in their faces. But eventually Australia settled down, and easily won on the back of their defence.

The whole arena, including all the Australians, gave Luis Scola a minute or two long standing ovation when he was subbed out near the end of the game.
