Not only does he drink like a fish, he's a bad influence on the nation's youth

Was glad to see the Aussies win Bronze over Doncic to claim their first ever Olympic medal!
It was also a bummer to see the aussies get the draw vs the USA on the path to gold. Would it have been any different if it were a gold medal matchup?

Did you go out to eat?
Pretty much quarantined in our hotel or studio at arena for the first 14 days by the government. So, a lot of UBER Eats. Great food. Then the past 8 days, with what little free time we had, we hit up restaurants wherever we were. Just amazing people. So kind.
Check out our Photography thread up at the top of the OT page. In the next few days I'll post my pics.

I see this photo with all these people, but it looks like there should be someone in that big open space in the front over the logo ....
You must have me on ignore on here. HA!

You know what, that is actually only HALF the crew. With 4 games a day, there were TWO crews. A lot of people from all over the world.

Great picture I have to share..... good friend Jeremy from Portland is one of our camera guys. He was on the crew with me here. Got this awesome pic yesterday after the gold medal game!

You might want to explain to him how masks work. Or is he just THAT proud of the mustache?

Back court of Sue Bird and Diana Taurasi won fifth Olympic gold. Both also won multiple college championships, WNBA titles, and four FIBA gold medals. US men's team was on hand as was Megan Rapinoe, other half of Northwest women's sports power couple.

Interesting stat, US men and women have each won seven basketball Olympic gold medals, but men's basketball became an Olympic sport in 1936 and women's not until 1976. So women have equaled male output in 40 fewer years.

Context is important. Amateurs-only for most of that men's history.

Also, I think your stats are wrong. The men have won seven golds in just the professional era: 1992, 1996, 2000, 2008, 2012, 2016 and 2020. I didn't feel like scrolling through the history to count how many before that.

16 Olympic gold medals for the men's team and 9 for the women's team. The women have won 7 straight and the men have only one 4 straight.

I was gonna say post pics!
I've wanted to go to Japan for a while now, I had to go check your IG (I haven't been on IG much) cause I figured you'd have taken some nice photos. Makes me want to go even more.

Lame about the quarantine, makes sense though. Glad you were able to have a few days to get out and experience public though. I've heard great things about Japan from basically everyone I've ever known who's been there.

Was this your first time there?

You are fortunate G!

watched that scrappy tiny Japanese women's team play their heart out in that medal game...I was really impressed with how they never gave up and how those two small guards could blow around someone like Brittany Gainer and make a layup or shoot a 3 over Taurasi.....USA never lost control of the game but Japan made them play for it...their switching and help defense was impressive..enjoyed the game....Brittany Gainer has really good hands in the post and Stewart also impressed the hell out of me...she's a hustle machine.

I tried to watch it also. Yes the Japanese women worked hard and the USA never really lost control of that game. They deserve some respect.
That being said i just can't watch women's basketball. Doesn't hold my interest at all. High School level boys are more dynamic than what you watch in the WNBA or International Women's levels.
