That was awesome to watch so amazing, beat Canada in both men's and women's hockey. F Canada....go USA!!!! We just beat them in their national game, both men's and women's, it cannot be understated how huge that is, and it's also great for the future of US hockey. Just like after 1980, this will drive kids to want to play hockey and do what this team just did. Really is great to see.

I just raised Jack Hughes 500 levels in my book, and not just because he scored the golden goal, but because of his interview after the game. All he talked about was his country, how proud he is to be American, all the players are, US hockey is a brotherhood, and this is all for the USA!!! I loved it, great for you Jack.

I hope that when the NHL resumes the US-based home teams will recognize/honor the team USA players for the visiting teams. They all deserve the utmost respect from the fans regardless of who they play for professionally.

Agree, and as I wrote in the other thread, I'd be shocked if the Rangers don't do something for Sullivan, Trocheck, Miller, terrible Drury, and USA hockey as a whole. It's the only reason I'd watch the pre-game, to see the ceremony, then I'll turn it off and not watch a second of the game itself.

One other comment let's give Hellebuyck huge credit, as Hughes did after the game. He was the USA's best player, and he was awesome overall. The biggest US advantage over Canada is in goal, and Hellebuyck showed that without a doubt.

As critical as I have been of Hellebuyck, and rightfully so I believe, saying despite his 3 Vezina's and Hart trophy, he cannot be considered the best goalie in the world when he sucks in the playoffs, he really stepped up in the Olympics, especially against Canada. I have a new respect for him despite his playoff struggles.

That was a huge pressure game, and he stepped up big time. Good for him and the USA.

I think Q Hughes is the best of two. He can actually play a good defense. I never saw him getting beat in the defensive zone even though he is a smallish dmen
