Whether you trade him today, or you hold him and play it like you did with Hayes, no way do I sign Kreider to a 6 or 7 year deal worth 6.5 per or more…no way. I personally deal him today and move on, but either way we cannot do that type of deal with Kreider.
Sure he is a mid-upper 20’s goal scorer, and good for close to 50 points, but let’s be real, his talent suggests he should be more than that. I cannot give him that kind of deal when he disappears, and I mean totally disappears, way too often, and for long stretches. And he is also 28 now, so he doesn’t really have upside anymore, and has maybe 3 years of prime left +/-. I just don’t think it is worth it.
Time to move on.
