Is he more suited to be a Shooting Guard or Point Guard?

I've always called him a Combo Guard, but for these purpose I'm limiting the choice between these two options.

Public Poll.

Where's the option for "the phrase 'once and for all' doesn't make sense in regards to a 22 year old player?" ;)

Well, to be honest, the topic has already been discussed/debated in these parts ad nauseam. However, I reluctantly appeased the person who asked me to post this poll. I'll leave it at that. ;)

What I want to see: Chauncey Billups V.2

IMO Bayless should become a point guard or nothing, for the Blazers anyway

I think it's appropriate that he's about fifty-fifty right now ... pretty much a perfect description of a combo guard.

i still think bayless can play with roy in the back court

Stop channeling MIXUM, you are so much better than that.

He is a career back up PG. I would never want him to be the starting PG for my team, but I don't think you could do much better for a back up PG. If Roy goes down however, I would be fine with him getting starter SG minutes.

i just really think it's too early for me to answer this poll. If he improves his shot, he becomes a shooting guard. If he improves his handle and decision making, he becomes a PG. As it stands now, he is just a back up to whichever guard needs a breather.

See, ABM, I told you. Many posters don't even know what positions players play.

He's a SG when he takes Roy's spot on the floor, and he's a PG when he takes Miller's.

Best suited as an SG, it seems.

I agree with combo guard. I think his perfect role is as a 3rd guard in a three guard rotation.

That's what I've been trying to get across to BLAZER PROPHET. Sometimes, he just won't listen. UGH!

haha..... "combo guard" is just a euphemism for a short shooting guard who has little to no point guard skills.

However, when said combo guard is further down the rotation, he can be an asset.

Question would you rather have 3 pure PG's and 3 pure SG's (6 total players).....or 2 pure PG's, 2 pure SG's, and a combo guard (5 total players)?

Totally dependent on skill level and skill-sets of the players involved. In general though, I think 6 guards (regardless of being a 1 or a 2) is probably 1 too many for a roster -- the Blazers have 6 right now and could have up to 8 assuming they keep both Armon and Mills.
