Cool vid. But paydays for almost everyone in this vid broke it up. Not some diva IMO.

You're telling me that if Aldridge had signed his extension that Paul Allen would not have paid to keep the team together? Seriously?

How much over would we be with LA at the max, Wes at 15 and Rolo at 12 and maxing out Dame? I haven't seen any willingness to go that much over for over a decade.

When did we need to in the last 10 years?

I didn't say we needed to. I said that's how long it's been since I've seen it. But in that decade I have seen articles talking about that not being an option however.

Thanks a fucking lot for posting this video. Why not post the 2006 lotto while you're at it

It's one year of luxury tax before the cap jumps. Doubt he would care

True and I believe those articles were all bullshit. For reason that we have discussed in the past. PA will go over the Cap if the team is worth going over the cap for. Otherwise it hurts their flexibility to get better.

I sure hope so. And I love those dudes in the video and especially Wes. But IMO those players were not ones I would build around for deep playoff runs. Too limited (including Wes)

For things to change so much in 12 months, it is tough not to draw the conclusion that this franchise is grossly dysfunctional.

As much as I loathe LMA as the ringleader of this clusterfuck, I have to believe that there is blame to go around. Olshey? Stotts? The team imploded on your watch...as a fan, why should I give you a second chance?

I am so angry right now, I can't even articulate it coherently.

I agree. I love Wes, but he was brought in to be BRoy's back up. He exceeded expectations no doubt.
But his handles and passing were limited. Of course his heart made up for it. I will miss him. But 15 mil per?

Cool they got along. The goal is to win championships. Shit they don't even have to like eachother. Just win. Team wasn't good enough. Even our record last year was kind of misleading. We didn't beat many good teams, even with a healthy squad.

Yep 100% in agree with you. I don't fault Wes at all for taking that deal. You are worth what someone is willing to pay you :)

Nope. I may still root for the team to succeed - but I am getting to the point that I can no longer root for the soulless mercenaries who are the individual players.
Ummmm we have a lot of intense players on our roster. Far from soulless.

People need to get over the past two years. We weren't built to be anything more than a 1st/2nd year exit treadmill team. Yeah, we had nice guys but that doesn't mean anything.

the problem is is it will be harder to get back to that treadmill as it was going from the treadmill to contending

Anybody catch when in the video Wes says "Defense is our achilles heel"?.....but yeah this is depressing as fuck. This was my favorite team by far growing up. fuck man if Wes didn't go down. If Lamarcus wanted to be on the team. We wouldn't be in this position.

:smiley-surprised:

Found this on another Blazers forum.

Wow..."some diva", ludicrous. Lets take a reality check. The plan all along was to see how far we could get with the core group. Neil stated that he had three years to do so. Fact is that they were not good enough to get very far in the play offs. If they had been able, I am sure that Paul would have moved mountains to retain ever one that he could, regardless of the cost. The real question is, Why pay top dollar for a second tier core?

If the Management and fan base is content with first round exits, then be happy now. As the roster is now we stand a good chance of being as good as last year, if not better.
