Service like Carbonite or Mozy. Do you use them?

I am thinking about it. Use time machine but want something offline.

Carbonite leaves your pits kind of greasy. Mozy smells funny. I'd hold out for a real deodorant.

You can get 2TB external USB drivers for about $100 (but I would guess you need far less) Back up to it and stick it in a fireproof safe?

I haven't used any online backups myself... just don't trust my data on another system.

This.

Fire proof safes don't work. In a real house fire, they eventually melt. Plus the heat on the safe will destroy the drive.

Burn DVD and stick it in safety deposit box?

that's another option i guess. i don't have a safety deposit box. plus online storage is most current. we did that at work with offsite tape backups, its a bitch to do regularly.

whenever i do take my laptop i do a backup on an external drive just in case i lose it (which has happened before)
