Online Petition To Keep Brandon Roy

people should make one for the opposite.

Maybe those who sign it should foot some of the cost of his contract, when he's averaging 10 points a night, playing every 3rd game.

I also wonder how many of these people realize he'd still get paid.

Yes. Someone should make a rational fan amnesty Roy petition

Blazer fans certainly aren't the most rational fans in the nba.

Lots of big talkers saying someone should start an "Amnesty Roy" petition, yet none of them willing to do it.

It's a lot easier to talk tough on the interwebs. :)

Take a poll of season ticket holders. My four seats say Thank You to Brandon and we will cherish the memories. Dont make the two games your knees have left be against us.

That was my first thought when I read the thread title. Of course, I'm not going to do it. :)

Listen, BRoy has been my favorite Blazer since Bill Walton in 1976-78. But the Bill Walton of 1974-76 was not - and sadly, aside from one playoff game last year....To this, Roy can no longer be my favorite player. The NBA is a business and the only wise business move is to amnesty Roy. He still gets his and one day he may be a contributor off the bench to a championship team elsewhere - as was Walton.
Too bad for Portland! If we could have only enjoyed the fruits of a healthy Walton in 1978 and beyond, we may very well have had multiple banners hanging from our rafters. And with a healthy Brandon and Oden, we all would have surely "Risen with them." But the reality is that we must move on - and the speculation of a healthy Roy and healthy Oden must now be in our past.

Amnesty Roy and rescind our QO to Oden and let's begin to build around LMA and Batum. Let's embrace Wallace and Felton and Matthews! I don't mind missi g the playoffs in a shortened season provided we begin anew and focus on developing the talent we now have and wisely add parts and pieces that will find the team back strong in the 2012-2013 season and beyond!

Go Blazers! And thanks for the memories Bill and Brandon!

While I can see the logic on giving up on Roy, I still hold out hope for Oden. I think it's way to early to give up on him. I don't think it'll hurt us to give him a 3 or 4 year contract and see how he does. He's only 23 so I'm all for giving him more of a chance. You might be willing to rebuild with a couple players, but don't expect to hit lotto gold, well still hoping gold, again.

Should start a petition to get rid of all these idiot casual fans who clearly don't follow the team well enough to understand why Roy could be on the chopping block. Hell, just bring back Rasheed Wallace and most of these fools will go back to boycotting the team where they belong.

It may be myopic on my part, but I would at least like to give Brandon a look before we amnesty. The rational part of my brain says that he's done and we need to let go, but there's the other part of my brain that remembers how amazing being at "Game 4" (The Brandon Roy Show) was. For all of you who are certain Brandon is done, isn't there ANY part of you that wonders if there is any hope? What if last year was more about Roy coming back from injury too soon? Are you really 100% sure he's done? What if you're wrong? What is the harm in waiting to see ONE LAST TIME before amnesty?

My thinking is that regardless if he's done or not, he will never be the player he once was, so that contract will be an albatross for it's entirety

I'm not convinced he's done, and I can't imagine anything worse than Roy lighting it up in something other than a Blazers Jersey. Especially this year when we have a solid, solid core.

That said, Kerry Eggers is on the Game this morning at 8:35, he's one guy that could sway me, excited to hear what he thinks....

What did he say?

I'm certain that Roy will never be the 2nd-team All-NBA and 2x All-Star again. As stated in the other thread, there are 4-5 reasons why, if you're going to amnesty him, you do it now. Maybe they aren't great reasons, maybe he can be "Game 4 Roy" for a while, but how many times are you going to lose opportunities waiting that ONE LAST TIME? Let's say that we bring him back, and he's injured for 24 games this year, but puts up 15ppg in a 6th-man role when he is healthy. Do you give him ONE LAST TIME to see if his absences were flukes?
