This forum is all about football, and with good reason. However, with the 10-11 basketball season already here, I thought there should at least be something for them.

Maybe a sticky about b-ball recruiting? Dana Altman already landed a 5 star recruit for next season, and another 4 star kid has the Ducks high on his list as well.

Sure thing. I will Sticky a thread about B-Ball Recruiting and hopefully have some basic knowledge on it from me. But I'll be honest, their Basketball Program isnt my area of Expertise. But I will make a thread to Discuss it.

Or maybe someone who is a hell of a lot more knowledgable (sp?) about Ducks B-Ball would like to start it, that way they can keep editing the first post, and make it their baby? I'll leave that open for someone to take the reigns on that one, or I can make a basic one in time if no one wants it.

Yeah, I haven't watched the hoops team since Ridnour, Jones, and Jackson.

I watch them some. Its just maybe what I grew up around. For Basketball I had the Blazers, but for Football I only had the Ducks. I'm not fairweather or anything, I just am very casual when it comes to Ducks BBall. Last time I watched was when it was Brooks, Bryce Taylor, Malik Hairston, Marty Leunan and... and... Catron???

My main love in college basketball is obviously the Zags. But, I still know a whole helluva lot about Ducks basketball.

Altman got a couple promising guard transfers that should produce. Jabari Brown was the 5 star out of Oakland, a very solid 2 guard that has NBA written all over him. Another signing was Austin Keumper from Westview who is a wide bodied gritty big man. Brett Kingma is a kid he signed out of the Seattle area who is a 6'1" shooting guard that is lights out, reminds me a lot of Derek Raivio. Gonzaga was high on the kid, but went a different direction late in the recruiting process. He really wanted to be a Zag too and chose Oregon over Romar and UW.

I like watching college hoops, but IMO it's not on the same level as college football. I think college football is just better. I get really frustrated watching college hoops because I think the quality is just too low. Stupid mistakes, iso ball, and guys who really have no business being on the court, and have no shot at getting to the NBA.

are you volunteering to do the BBall thread???? :)

I prefer watching high level college hoops to an NBA game of say Raptors vs. Wizards any day. I'm kind of a college hoops nerd. Know too much for my own good. I can see where you're coming from except for the ISO ball part. NBA is much more ISO dominated.

I guess I mean one star player trying to do everything. Not so much like an NBA iso but one guy trying to create on his own.

Possibly, what are you looking for?

whatever you want. MM had mentioned making a sticky about recruiting new and all that like we have on the Football one. But the beauty of making it your baby, would be doing it however you want :) I assume it would be a little less work than the football one cause there are fewer recruits.

It is also National letter of intent day for college basketball.

I just think as the years go by, Oregon's program will probably become a little more significant. Altman has a 5* this year, and a 4* kid is still highly considering the school. If thatGod forsaken ugly court attracts 16-17 year old kids as it is intended, and if Oregon continues to be the new "it" school, we will need a sticky for recuiting

I'm interested to hear what the kids think of that floor...

and... I... love... my... bad... mofo... wallet!

Its kindof weird to see Ernie Kent hang around at these last Blazer games. I've said hi to him already. What is he doing lurking in Portland lately?
I'm surprised that the Ducks are 0-4 in the Pac-10 so far. Whats up with that?

Tomorrow night is the first game in the new arena... vs. USC. Game is on TV on FSN @ 7:30pm.

seeing it on TV I thought it looked better lol

Looks like the Ducks have a player, E.J, Singler thats doing some dirty crude moves on opponents. Heres UCLA's players reaction after their win over the Ducks and their comments about Singler.

I'm rooting for my Beavs to win at Gill. :)

basketball is about hustle. Sometimes you have to have that edge. You ever watch John Stockton or Danny Ainge play?
