Of the entire team, 2 deep (44 players) on the depth chart, we're losing 3 or 4 only. Considering how we've been dominating college football since the Cal game I think next year (despite a very tough schedule) we're going to be a very real threat for the BCS National Championship game.

UO always gets screwed by the BCS. Our best shot was back when we had Joey Harrington, and we STILL didn't get in the title game. Would we have beaten Miami that year? Probably not, but we definitely would have given them a better game than the fucking Huskers.

Lets get throught this next week before we even start talking about the week after... let alone next year.

Stop being practical! It's not fun!

lol sorry I jsut remember Stanford knocking UO out of Rose Bowl contention in 95.. and if we can beat Stanford in 2001 we arent even talking about BCS screwing us and Nebraska playing the U.

Don't give me this bullshit. Don't. Just like being a Blazer fan, being an Oregon Duck Football fan is an exercise in heartache and frustration.

2001.... #2 in both polls, and getting jumped by a Nebraska team that lost it's conference title game 62-36. They got pummeled by Miami. Oregon went on to destroy the team that beat Nebraska. No justice.

2007. Oregon flying high, ranked #2 in the BCS, seemingly on the easy train to the BCS title game.... then Dennis Dixon goes down. The team implodes. Duck fans are left with their jaws on the ground.

Countless years of starting off fast, losing to teams that the Ducks have no business losing to, and it sending their season in a tailspin.

So you'll forgive me if I don't start jumping up and puffing my chest out when there's still 4 conference games to go, any one of which could be a Duck loss if they get too big of heads.

Yeah, I can't blame you one bit.

But I have a feeling we're going to have incredible depth and will be ready for anything that comes our way next season.

I know the ducks will be ready for a huge year next year, but so will the beavers, jus saying

I for some reason thought you were a Beavers fan.

We have to play USC in LA next year. That is going to be the game that decides who plays for the national championship next year.

Ducks will be better next year but so will USC.

Beavers will beat USC again next year :drumroll:

Barring injuries, we'll be poised at least to have a good season based on returning players on both sides of the ball. The schedule, however, is BRUTAL next year:

@Tennessee, who is going to be a good team next year

@ Cal

@ USC

@ Oregon State

It's a pretty big assumption to think we'll make it through all four of those unscathed.

oh man forgot about Tennesee... good point Pop. Brutal Road Schedule.

Beawho?

j/k My second favorite team is the Beavers. I will never understand that Beaver and Duck hate. It's great for the state when both programs are strong. The state of Oregon used to the football toilet of the nation. There was talk of both teams leaving the Pac-10 because we could never compete.

...I just hope that they keep the silver feathers on the jersey!!! :dunno:

yeah I dont get the hate either. I have no problem with their Football program, save for one week a year ;) they have a very respectable program.. I enjoy when they do well, except when they get recruits interested in both schools like Phillip :sigh:

I am predicting right now, this thread will jinx the Ducks! That or the teams above them aren't going to move down far enough =\

by ALWAYS do you mean one time in 2001? besides Miami would have wiped the field with that duck team, be thankful you beat the bufs and finished the year #2. i've seen you post this a couple times and am having a real hard time coming up with any other time they were screwed.

I agree. Both Duck and Beaver fans should be proud of their teams in the last past 8 years for making the state of Oregon out of the Pac-10 cellar. Its the state of Washington thats hurting right now in the football program. Duck fans, stop hating the Beavers so much and vice versa.

I disagree. I think Oregon would have killed Miami 87-0.

Ridiculous? It's just as valid as your opinion, since they never played, and it's beside the point that Oregon was denied their earned opportunity to play in Nebraska's place.
