it is all opinion but looking at the #'s that miami team went undefeated, uo did not. miami won by an average of 33 points/game, oregon won by 13. miami beat 5 teams ranked in the top 14, oregon beat 4 teams in the top 22. and that miami team basically went wire to wire at #1, only dropping as far as #2. it's true that we will never know but miami would have been heavily favored in that game and most likely would have won.

i am still waiting for all these other examples of how the bcs has screwed oregon? anyone? anyone? bueller?

After an ugly beginning to the season, Oregon began to fade in the minds of many top recruits. But five-star DE Owamagbe Odighizuwa and many other top recruits saw the recent 47-20 blowout of USC in person and it left quite an impression.

the amazing thing when you look at the win margin is you would expect that they killed a bunch of crappy teams but their margin of victory over ranked teams is over 30 pts/game as well.

this is why we need to shut our god damn mouths!

Don't give me this bullshit. Don't. Just like being a Blazer fan, being an Oregon Duck Football fan is an exercise in heartache and frustration.

2001.... #2 in both polls, and getting jumped by a Nebraska team that lost it's conference title game 62-36. They got pummeled by Miami. Oregon went on to destroy the team that beat Nebraska. No justice.

2007. Oregon flying high, ranked #2 in the BCS, seemingly on the easy train to the BCS title game.... then Dennis Dixon goes down. The team implodes. Duck fans are left with their jaws on the ground.

Countless years of starting off fast, losing to teams that the Ducks have no business losing to, and it sending their season in a tailspin.

So you'll forgive me if I don't start jumping up and puffing my chest out when there's still 4 conference games to go, any one of which could be a Duck loss if they get too big of heads.

What did I say?

UO has never been screwed (and I'm a Ducks Fan)

2001? The Ducks lost 49-42 to unranked Stanford at home. Nebraska lost to #14 Colorado AT COLORADO. Yeah, it was 62-36. I saw the game. Colorado couldn't do anything wrong - they played out of their heads. And they were a better team than Stanford. It was a coin flip as to who deserved to play Miami. And I'm happy we didn't. That Miami team may have been the greatest college team ever. Andre Johnson, Clinton Portis, Jeremy Shockey, Jonathon Vilma, Ed Reed, and many more . . . they were just awesome.

As long as I've been a Ducks fan, they have only been as good as their offense. Gang Green? It's a myth. They gamble a lot, and some weeks it works. But it's never been dominant. And at least 2-3 times a year they get LIT UP. THAT'S why they will never win a National Title. They can't go 11 games w/o allowing a 40-50 point game or three. And it's tough to win when you give up 51 points. Nick "Allow-alot-y" needs to be fired. That Kamikaze defense lets us down every year. Man is sucks to lose 51-42 when you're ranked #8, but it's so Deja Vu. Another 9-4 Season seems in store, and probably another trip to the Holiday Bowl.

man we have a whiny bitch fan base good lord... Drivers seat for the Rose Bowl isnt enough for some...

Oh well, life goes on. We are still in the driver's seat for the Rose Bowl. We control our own destiny. Even if we lose one more we still have a good shot, but then it gets ugly.

3 wins and we are in the Rose Bowl. Oh man, every game is going to be so freakin' nerve racking.

Go Ducks!

Either way, i'm proud of this team. Our defense needs to man up after yesterday.

I'm not too concerned about our defense. Remember just a few weeks ago how everyone was saying how great our defense was: and it still is. Yes they had a letdown vs. Stanford, but give them credit: they had an extra week to prepare, and clearly made the most of it. Luck played the best game of his life, and Gerhardt was stellar too.

Arizona State is a perfect game for the Duckies to get back on track, and I fully expect that they will.

Interesting that you watched that Nebraska/Colorado game and you failed to notice that it wasn't played AT COLORADO. It was the Big XII Title game and it's played in Texas every year. How do you figure that Oregon wasn't screwed that year? Nebraska was dominated in their LAST game. Oregon was never dominated by Stanford. I was at the game. It was a rather fluky win for Stanford in that they blocked two huge punts. Joey Harrington had a a Hail Mary opportunity to tie the game. Anyway, I find it odd how two people can have such differing opinions about objective data. At least I don't misremember the facts.

Right. I really hope we just destroy them and get our mojo back.

But the thing is, Masoli and James played well and we lost. First time this year.

But mad props to Stanford, the better team won. Our offense played up to their ability and we lost.
