Oregon Ducks 2026

Raiola's reported recovery timetable is 3-4 months from when his femur was reset in November. Having suffered a couple of major injury setbacks myself, he's going to lose a lot of the muscles/strength in that stretch from inactivity and it doesn't just come back quickly no matter how much work you're willing to put in. If Dante opts for the draft, he's going to have his work cut out for himself to be QB1 in the fall. Besides the new playbook and being behind the others in the QB room in Duck experience, his recovery will have to go very well.

the bleeding won't stop on the D Line for Oregon. They have lost all their depth. 7 D linemen have entered the portal. Just about all of the 2nd and 3rd string. Tosh Lupoi was the glue holding that group together and Oregon, contrary to all the bullshit out there, does not have the NIL base to be able to pay starter money to backups

the Ducks will need to hit the portal to have any semblance of depth

Wednesday is the last day for guys to announce for the NFL draft. Lots of tea leave readers are saying Moore will return to Oregon

WTF
Does Raiola now go somewhere else?

possible but not likely

last season, Dante backed up Gabriel and the NCAA just changed the redshirt rule from a max of 4 games to 9 games

Makes sense Moore is staying. I'd have been surprised if he would have stayed if he had a good showing in the Indiana game. Ducks fans can collectively breathe now that they know he is returning and should continue to improve.

I love that Moore is returning to the Ducks but let's be honest passing up 40 to 50 million and being a JET or return to the Ducks kind of a no brainer pick in my opinion.

LOL

That was my thought process until the game against Indiana. I think it was clear in that game he isn't ready and I think he could have dropped in the draft to where its more like 15-20 million guaranteed.

With that being the case, if his NIL is 4-5 million a year I think the right move is staying another year. He will get better. Just hope for no injuries.

Hmmm? Maybe?

Injuries is always a consideration but it sure eases that a bit knowing he's going to get paid 4-5 million to play college ball. Remember when it wasn't that way really? Players would not take the chance of getting injured.

Being serious I love Moore and he might be able to take the Ducks all the way but I am not sure he has what it takes to be a Star NFL QB but i hope he proves me wrong when the time comes. I think he might be better the A. Smith and Harrington but I think he is Mariota lite in terms he might be able at best to be a career backup with moments to shine when he has to start cause of injury.

No way would he have dropped out of the top 5. None chance with that sort of arm talent. Yes he could use more college experience, but boosting his draft stock is not the reason why... "This will give him the best chance of making 300M"

Perhaps. But a lot of things have to go right. No doubt the experience will be good. But as mentioned, there is some risk because next year is going to be stacked with qbs. The Drew Allar situation is sad.

After watching him in the game against Indiana, i'd be nervous taking him at #2 because I think he does have some growth needed for NFL play. GM's jobs are on the line if a guy is drafted that high and can't contribute Soonish.

Either way, I hope the best for Moore next season and hope he has a great year. Respect.

Absolutely no excuse for the Ducks to not win it all next season. They are stacked at every position, good coaches, and have all the big fancy resources.

c'mon man....those are the same things they had this season, last season, and the season before. Reality was other teams were more stacked at every position and didn't have significant injuries

and the bigger reality is the Ducks aren't stacked anymore. They have lost a ton of depth. They may be the least stacked Duck team of Lanning's tenure next season. Look at who leaving in the transfer portal:

Jaricho Johnson DL (6'3, 360)
Bryson Beaver QB
Zach Grace TE
Darrian Anderson WR
Roger Salaepaga TE
Terrance Green DL
Solomon Davis CB
Blake Purchase EDGE
Tobi Hastrup EDGE
Ashton Porter EDGE
Xadavian Sims DL
Lipe Moala OL
Vander Ploog TE
Luke Moga QB
Kamar Mothudi LB
Austin Novosad QB
Daylen Austin CB
Justius Lowe WR
Makai Hughes RB (to Houston)
Jahlil Florence CB (to Missouri)
Dakoda Field CB (to Oklahoma)
Kingston Lopa CB (to Cal)
Kyler Kasper WR (to BYU)
Jay Harris RB (to Kansas St.)
Jayden Limar RB (to Washington)
Cooper Perry WR (to Cal)
Sione Laulea CB (to Missouri)
Tionne Gray DL (to Notre Dame)
Kade Caton TE (to South Florida)

then you need to look at the seniors graduating and the players opting for the draft:

Kenyon Sadiq TE
Dillon Thieneman S
Jadon Canady CB
Theran Johnson S
Atticus Sappington K
Andrew Boyle K
Bryce Boettcher LB
Mathew Bedford OL
Alex Harkey OL
Emmanuel Pregnon OL
Charlie Pickard OL
Isaiah World OL
James Ferguson-Reynolds P
Ross James P
Noah Whittington RB
Malik Benson WR
Gary Bryant Jr. WR

That's 7 starters on offense and 3 on defense....and their 2-deep has been decimated by the Portal and graduation. Not only that, the Ducks have been hammered on special teams: they are losing their FG kicker, their kickoff man, two punters, their long-snapper, their holder, their punt returners, and their main KO returner

don't try to claim the Ducks are stacked in order to later claim failure....their depth has been absolutely torched by the portal and graduation. And we've seen how teams filled with underclassmen have performed against teams of 23-24 year old players like Indiana and Miami have.

Oh I forgot, the Ducks are the only team losing players to the NFL, portal, graduation, etc. 🙄
But say what you may to make yourself feel better.
The Ducks will probably be the preseason favorite, ranked #1.

I never said they were the only team that didn't lose players....what I said was that they aren't "stacked" anymore because they lost an unusual amount of depth. Of the 50 players in their 2-deep on offense-defense-ST, they lost 28. And it was really clear how important depth was in the CFP when they were dealing with injuries at RB, WR, OL, DL & DB. Playing 16 games is a war of attrition; depth is critical.

Why are you ignoring the new players that are coming in? They have filled/replaced the roster very very nicely.

Ducks will be more experienced and hopefully healthier. This years team was very young with key receivers hurt for most of the year. I dont beleive anyone thought they would be a legit contender this year as it was a more transition year with new qb, and a bunch of rook starters. This next years team will be better and more experienced, imo.

they lost 7 defensive linemen and a LB to the portal and Boettcher graduated. So, 9 members of their front-7 are gone including every single backup in that front-7. So far, they have not added a single DL or LB from the portal. Yeah, they recruited some front-7 guys from high school in the 2026 class, but it's extremely rare for a true freshman to start in a front-7. If you look at the front-7's of Indiana, Miami, Texas Tech....they are just about all juniors and seniors. I think one sophomore out of 21 players...the rest upper-classmen and many of those are at least 22 years old, or older

Oregon has great defenses when their front-7 is talented AND deep. When they aren't, the Duck D is mediocre. Right now, Oregon's front-7 is very thin and all it would take is one injury to a starter to make Oregon's D vulnerable

Has Oregon got any transfer portal commitments besides Raiola? I know Indiana graduates a lot but they already have 15-17.

Carl Williams CB from Baylor
Koi Perich S from Minny
Iverson Hooks WR from UAB
Michael Bennet OT from Yale
Andrew Olesh TE from Penn St
Dylan Raiola QB from Nebraska
Bailey Ettridge Punter from Nevada
RJ Todd Long-Snapper from WMU
Keaton Emmitt K from Nevada

Raiola, Perich, and Ollesh are all top-50 portal signees, so probably paid a premium NIL. The rest are depth pieces, likely from the bargain bin

the Ducks don't have as deep of NIL pockets as many assume

I agree. The Ducks will be much worse next season.
