Excuse me? Other than calling you a homer which you obviously are show me the “Slew” of insults.
Your posts are great. Your information on this thread is unmatched. I just find it very tough to understand why you even entered this conversation knowing the kind of money being spent.
Delusional is a compliment? Claiming to be laughing at me while completely misconstruing what I've stated? Homer means that I'm biased to the point I don't know whats what. Good grief dude, WTF? You can't understand why I entered into this conversation about money being spent when what was being stated was very different then what I've been told? I don't need to restate my points, perhaps you should take a breath and reread whats actually been posted.

I must apologize for the delusional statement.
That was taking things too far.

Fwiw Rich Eisen said Dante Moore is getting 7.5 million to stay.

If that is the case he made the right decision.

At just 20 years old, Dante was already rich going into the decision & he choose to bet on himself becoming worthy of a 2nd NFL contract. That accepting a measly 4.5M or so (what I'm hearing) for this season & soaking up another year of college experience would better his chances of hitting the ground running to establish himself as a NFL starting quality QB. He'll make some more money on top of that with endorsement deals. With as little experience as he has, declaring for the draft could have been seen as a cash grab... he went for the long term play.

I'll repeat what I was told about Phil Knight: he's 'traditional' and was initially uncomfortable with NIL and the transfer portal. He prefers investing in facilities rather than being held hostage every cycle by NIL demands. He does inject a lot of NIL dollars but not as much as many assume. And he wants some of his dollars channeled to other sports like T&F and softball. Rumor is he does not like the one-and-done rule for basketball and is reluctant to be involved

It’s funny that “what you’ve been told” you take as fact. But what the rest of us read & hear is complete BS. Sounds like you pick & choose what to believe to fit your own narrative.
I’ve got friends & family & former coworkers that are well connected at Nike & at UofO and what you’ve been told about Mr Knight is false. He 100% contributes to their NIL $. He’s obviously not all of it, but a very healthy chunk. As he’s getting older he’s contributing more. He wants a Ducks national title sooner rather than later.

The statements are the thing that gets me.
“What I’ve been lead to believe by program insider Types”
Or just “What I've been told”
I don’t get it? Seriously every single person I know that is connected to the Ducks has them spending as much as possible and a very large amount of that is from Phil Knight/Nike.
Now here’s the thing though. My sources are older and probably not as up to speed as some of the better insiders but they do have some merit. One works in the U of O administration office and another is an instructor/professor of business and economics there. Obviously they are not front line on the decisions being made so I don’t feel comfortable quoting those as fact. However they do fall in line with what has been reported.
So take that for what it’s worth.

WUT?....I never said that PK doesn't contribute to UofO NIL programs. Not once. Why the fuck should I trust what you "hear" when you just quoted what I said and then immediately distorted it to fit your bias? I mean it's right there, plain to see

what I did say was what I was told by a long-time Oregon donor who actually knows PK and has talked to him many times, was that that PK was initially reluctant to become engaged in NIL. It was a new thing in 2021-22 because of court rulings, and it generated a completely new landscape for college sports. It's certainly logical that a man in his 80's who was a college athlete 65 years ago might wonder where all this was heading when NIL suddenly became legal in conjunction with the transfer portal

So, yes, he does contribute plenty to NIL but he also doesn't just say yes to every demand, and his checkbook isn't as open as many believe. Again....if it was, Oregon would not have seen 30 players entering the transfer portal

my guess is that Oregon's current annual NIL spending is probably in the 25-30M range and PK likely contributes 60-70% of that

That actually makes a bunch of sense. I mean the game and the way it’s funded has changed quite a bit.

Not sure who to root for.

I mean it would say something that they only games we've lost the last two years have been to the champs.

But also, I hate Indy.

I have no problem with Mario, he did improve the Ducks and leaving got us Lanning who I like more.
Will Ducks fans be upset they moved off Mario if he wins one first? I've certainly seen Ducks fans express displeasure about him since he no longer was the Ducks coach.

Why do you hate Indy? Mendoza is such a likeable guy.

Oregon didn't move off of Mario. After constantly talking commitment and brotherhood, Mario left Oregon which is why many Duck fans hold a grudge.

Personally, I'm not rooting for or against either school tonight. Just hoping for a good game though I expect Indiana to boatrace the U. The only school I hate is Washington

#5

2025 record: 13-2, 8-1 Big Ten

Key starters expected to leave: WR Malik Benson, OT Isaiah World, G Emmanuel Pregnon, TE Kenyon Sadiq, LB Bryce Boettcher, S Dillon Thieneman

Key additions: QB Dylan Raiola (Nebraska), OT Michael Bennett (Yale), S Koi Perich (Minnesota), WR Iverson Hooks (UAB), S Carl Williams IV (Baylor)

2026 outlook: For all the good Dan Lanning has done in four seasons as Oregon's coach -- and there has been plenty with a 48-8 record -- it still seems like the Ducks are trying to get over the hump in the CFP. The Ducks got a major boost for doing that in 2026 when quarterback Dante Moore, considered a potential No. 1 pick in the NFL draft, decided to return for another season. Lanning will have two new coordinators after Will Stein and Tosh Lupoi left to become the head coach at Kentucky and Cal, respectively. Lanning promoted Drew Mehringer to offensive coordinator and Chris Hampton to defensive coordinator. The Ducks should be solid on defense after All-Big Ten selections A'Mauri Washington, Matayo Uiagalelei and Teitum Tuioti decided to return, along with defensive tackle Bear Alexander. Newcomer Perich was one of the best safeties in the FBS as a true freshman last season.

I watched a Colin Cowherd, John Middlekauf clip last night. They mentioned they thought Ohio State, Indiana and Miami were the clear top 3 teams this year in college.

It was surprising to me they did not mention Oregon.

Well, Miami sure put up a lot better fight against Indiana than Oregon did. I thought one place they were clearly superior to oregon was in the offensive line. Maybe the game plan also.
