Word ... I got no comeback. My Ducks truly sucked it up this year. I just think the CBI is a ridiculous tournament. Of course ... like you said ... it's better than where Oregon is.

Just having a little fun with you guys.

I agree. There is no need for the CBI or any other post season tourney besides the big dance and the NIT.
But if they can make $$ off it then I'm sure they'll continue with it.

question for college basketball fans. we all know the NCAA tourney is top dog and losing in the first round is better than winning any other tournament. but what about the NIT? would you trade a CBI championship for a single game in the NIT on national TV? take into account that home teams have to pay 60 grand for each home game in the CBI.

I always thought the best way to revitalize the NIT would be to have it be like the NCAA tournament, but at the beginning of the season. Have some panel of "experts" rank the top 64 teams, and have them go at it for the first week of the season. Wherever you end up at the end is how the rankings start out at the beginning of the season.

O-live is reporting that sophomore PG Jahii Carson has a verbal committment for Oregon State.
hoops note ... various websites reporting that sophomore PG Jahii Carson (5-11, 175, Mountain Pointe HS in Phoenix) has made a very early verbal committment to OSU. The class of 2011 prospect was on the radar of many schools and reportedly had scholarship offers from OSU, UO, UNLV, and Cal. ... Carson averaged 27.3 points and 6.8 assists per game for Mountain Pointe in its 11-15 2008-09 season.
Of course his decision could change within 2 years but this would be awesome.
