I'd go for it. It's not like we've been able to stop them at all.
 
I doubt the Stanford defense will be gassed... they've barely played.

what a half..second half will be different i'm sure. I'll be watching the timbers though.
 
Them kicking a FG feels like a big win on that drive.
We really need a stop and then a score or I don't think we have a shot at winning

On the bright side is Stanford's playing above their heads. Game isn't over yet. I'm anxious to see Helfs adjustments.
 
Although I'm a Beaver fan, I'm rooting for the Ducks in this one but so far, there hasn't been much to root for. They look vastly inferior to Stanford thus far. Not what I was expecting nor hoping.

I hope the Ducks come out and just blow up for 30-40 or more points in the second half (while simultaneously shutting down Stanford - which seems improbable as they've really showed no indication of having that ability through the first half).

Here's the problem, we cannot stop the run. Not at all. They're just running us over. Even if we do get the offense going, how do we stop their offense? They are completely controlling the clock.
 
Ducks need to start run blitzing and getting aggressive on defense. They can't just sit back and wait for the Stanford RB to get to them, they're totally losing the physical match up. Bah! Disappointing to believe your team has a shot at being #1 only to be totally exposed like this. Two years in a row DAT giving up key TD in this game.
 
So disgusted right now.

At some point we have to stop pretending these losses are flukes. The smoke-and-mirrors approach has again been exposed by a team with a simple gameplan and good execution.
 
We are a running team. If we cannot run the football, we are fucked. It's that simple.

I felt this way for a while now, but I compare our team to the Paul Westhead teams at Loyola.
