Trumbo is a headcase. Anaheim sent him packing because he could not avoid the Tinsel Town nightlife........

There was debate on whether or not Trumbo would be non-tendered, because he's about to make 9M as a 1.1WAR 1st Baseman. Getting some AAA/AAAA depth at catcher (have you SEEN our catching?!) is, if not decent, not a horrible get for someone who was likely to be non-tendered anyway.

Of course, the only 1B now on the 40-man is Jesus Montero. And I mean that in the loosest of terms. Then again, having an extra 9M to spend on an outfielder may be the difference between getting Denard Span/Dexter Fowler and getting Jason Heyward. Heck, I'll put Cano at 1B if it means I get to see Heyward roaming the outfield for 8 years.
