Its actually the dad of the kid requesting an apology. You can watch the kid get barely bumped (not losing balance) and his hat falls off. The kid and his dad are like sitting in $1500 seats. They just want some signed autograph shoes, or something. What a bunch of crybabies.

dude i read that yesterday, the biggest pile of shit story ive seen in a while.

that dude's a bitch.

Nice work DaRizzle! I agree, this dad is a little sissy. In the highlight you can see that Big Baby barely hits the kid. This is ridiculous. This bitch shouldnt be allowed to sit courtside if he's scared of getting touched by an NBA player.

Hell if anything that kid should be proud of that. He is part of history! I would be like "That is me getting hit by him as he ran by!". He is going to be on highlights for years. That would be fucking cool.:ghoti:

Yeah, I bet that kid's a celebrity at his school. It's not like he accidently elbowed or punched the kid in the face. If I was that kid, I'd be proud that I was the one who was on ESPN the whole day on the highlights.

Just another case of stupid parents in sports.

Wow, what a lame dad.

Gets courtside seats and takes his son. Good.

Then does something this stupid to embarass his son after the loss. Bad.

ORLANDO, Fla. -- The father of the 12-year-old boy bumped by Celtics big man Glen "Big Baby" Davis after Sunday's game-winning shot is demanding an apology.
Ernest Provetti told the Orlando Sentinel that he wrote the NBA office demanding an apology from Davis for acting like a "raging animal with no regard for fans' personal safety." NBA spokesman Tim Frank confirmed the league received the e-mail but declined to comment on it.
Video of the play shows Davis ducking behind a referee and stepping out of bounds as he ran back to the Celtics bench. Provetti told the paper it was his son, Nicholas, whose hat fell off as Davis bumped him.
Celtics spokesman Jeff Twiss said Davis was not available for comment. The Magic also declined to comment.
Later Monday, Provetti told the Sentinel neither the Celtics nor the NBA responded, adding he won't be waiting around for that call.
"In the scheme of things, I still think he shouldn't have went on the sideline, but obviously nothing is going to come of it," Provetti told the newspaper. "And it's better to forget about it and not incite it anymore."

That is like someone at a baseball park not paying attention, and then complaining when they get hit by a foul ball.

There are large men hurling around at fast speed. If you have courtside seats BE AWARE AND STAY OUT OF THE FUCKING WAY!

Hey dad, don't you teach you son the ways of the world? Or, do you set him up to fail, and then complain about other people afterwards?

Yes. Agreed. The kid SHOULD have been paying attention... or, if he was not, he should at least understand that a player who just hit a game-winner MIGHT bump into him.

I'm not sure why the father is being such a wimp.

But they got an apology. Hope that it was worth embarrassing yourself and your family, dad.

Good for Big Baby... it costs him nothing and reflects well upon him that he'd apologize rather than dig in his heels because the dad is an ass.

Anyone have a working link to a video clip? Everything I've tried is broken...

Thanks, BasX. After watching it several times, I think Davis should apologize to the kid. But the father should be ridiculed mercilessly for demanding one.

Reminds me of when James Worthy fell into my lap once at a Laker game in Portland (I scammed some recently-vacated courtside seats at garbage time). It was a badge of honor. I haven't washed myself since.

That said, Davis didn't need to shove the kid as he ran by. Pushing off is an offensive foul.

No problem, I always remember the Garnett incident a few years ago when the ball hit the fan and the fan was carted off.

Dear Douchebag Dad,

This is too acknowledge your letter dated 5/11/09 concerning the incident at the end of the Boston Celtics victory over the Orlando Magic.

We are sorry that you, and your impressionable young son, had to witness your team losing at such a close proximity. We're sure your son will be traumtized for life by this incident - and the humiliating aftermath.

We are also extremely sorry that you felt your son's saftey was in jeopardy when you, and he, left your courtside seats. In the future, if you leave your seats during the course of a beat down, it will result in an automatic one game suspension.

In the future, to better protect your son, we strongly encourage you to sit in the upper deck. Better yet, stay home on your safe, comfy couch.

If you do decide to sit courtside at future NBA games, we strongly suggest you grow a pair.

Sincerely,

The NBA and Citizens for Whine Free America

LOL. Way overblown. But good for Big Baby that he apologized, makes him look good. LOL at the dad.

Glen Davis has a face that you just want to punch.

Just seeing him on the court irks me.
