People..... Boy, Girl, and fetus (gender unknown). Hammer, you got to draw pictures for these old farts.

:oldman:
eh, what'd you say?

I can't hear unless you shout into a bullhorn...!!! What's that, I can't see either...! Is that a middle finger or are you pointing to the Stars?

Or boy, girl and fetus (gender to be decided later in life).

gender has already been decided... it has already developed all the boy or girl bits it will develop... it's not like it will come out and decide to be a boy or girl contrary to what many idiots believe...

Amen, I never have believed in a predetermined genetic choice of gender, after birth. Environmental choices, once born and raised, to often screw up those who can't decide if they're chicks with dicks, or otherwise. As much, parental guidance determines a helluva lot more than people give themselves credit for, when it comes to focking up a kids life.

As for those who say otherwise, face it boys and girls, you may have a freak on your hands. (not aiming this at you Steve, rather defending your thoughts and my own are inline with yours).

Hope that makes sense.

Your wife is close my friend. I know you will take a huge sigh, when baby is born, and your wife returns to good health. Kim and I are rooting for you both, to have a safe and healthy delivery.

Nothing in the world compares to being a Father...! IMHO...! I wouldn't trade being a parent for all the toys in the world. Not on my life.......

Some say a child in their two year age, is the "terrible twos", not us, we called them the Terrific Two's".

Is your wife having natural child birth, or a planned C-Section? (I know some are determined at the time of birth). Kim, had 3 C-Sections. I took the classes to be in the delivery room. A wise thing to do, in case one's wife has an emergency unplanned C-Section.

The wildest thing I have ever done, watching a C-Section. When her water broke, the Nurse sucked out the placenta with a vacum tube, which collected in an enclosed clear plastic container right in front of my face, by Kims side. That was a bit gross, yet, didn't really bother me. Neither did watching them cut her from hip to hip, (C-sections today are never hip to hip).

Once cut, they peeled back her belly skin, both up and down like they were peeling a banana. What a sit to see inside of your spouse, and inside of their skin too. That was a bit freaky, especially when the doc put Forceps into her belly, I thought he was going to pull out an Alien. (The Saddle Block did not numb Kim at all, and in lieu of yelling shit fire, she almost broke my hand squeezing it). But then what is a Husband for, in his wife's most delicate time of need and support?

Once delivered, the Nurse said you did good, most men don't. Right then I nodded my head, and passed out cold.....I woke up outside the OR on the Floor, as a nurse was giving me a whiff of smelling salts....I almost puked from the smell, then could not quit laughing hysterically, I felt like I just climbed Mt. Whitney. HooYah....good thing Kim couldn't have a 4th C-Section, or natural birth for all 3, or we may of wound up with a Dozen, after all I heard they are "Cheaper by the Dozen".

As much I meant to say, i was hoping for my own Little League Team of nothing but my own Kids.

Yep, my own family team, on our own baseball diamond in the 40 acre back yard, plus a Motocross track,

Ain't no such animal as TERRIBLE TWO'S. Its an old wives tale started by..............well, an old wife.

Well, it's a planned c-section... 1st was almost one after an emergency induction due to pre-clampsia... 2nd was a planned c-section and the doc screwed up as she ended up needing a blood transfusion due to the doc cutting a vein in which she almost bled out... #2 was 4 days late & 10 lbs 10 ozs.... 1st was 3 weeks early thanks to the pre-eclampsia... he was 7.5 lbs... #3 is already measuring big.... My bride needs to go for another glucose tolerance test for potential gestational diabetes.... So even if she doesn't have gestational diabetes, babies run big... plus the fact she's turning 35 a couple of days before the scheduled c-section, which makes her "advanced maternal age"... add in the hyperemesis gravadium and she's high risk... going natural after a c-sectionis even more risky.... so....

I was there for both of the boys' births.... But when I was there for the c-section, I only got to be by her head.... probably good though.... I love medical type stuff & might not have seen her turn white like a ghost...

Terrible Threes is a more true statement.... the twos were easy compared to the threes....

Yeah... Heather & I are counting down the days... more so her though...

You hang in there buddy, and when I remember I'll keep popping in a prayer for the little lady. Well............at this time, it would be big lady, but don't tell her I said that, she'll never speak to me again.

She's back down to her pre-pregnancy weight... she hasn't really gained any weight... So not big lady... she's almost 8 months but looks closer to 5 months... ;)

Good for her. When my ex wife was pregnant with our 1st, I don't want to say she was big but you didn't walk WITH her. you walked AMONG her.

No, not good... it means she's loosing weight as the baby is there too...

Oh I misunderstood when you said she only looks like she's 5 months I thought that maybe she only gained 15-20 lbs. which isn't really all that rare.

No... it's actually only a net gain of maybe 1 pound... and I anticipate that going down to zero or even below zero before too long... she can't eat much of anything.. can't keep it down...

Many years ago a friend of mine went through a similar experience & they had to hospitalized her so they could feed her through an IV & keep norishment (forgive the spelling) to the baby. Has something like that been disgusted?

neither disgusted nor discussed... and it's nourishment...

To answer your question, she hasn't progressed that far thank God... but they would if they needed to...

Yeah sometimes I spell like a 4th grader & other times I'm just to damn lazy to spell check. Listen as long as the doctor is telling you that the baby is okay. & God willing remains so. Keep thinking the good thoughts.

I know... it's just tough seeing her so sick...

Put your at catcher that would force him to pay attention as he would be directly involved with every pitch

LMAO....good one Rick.....one old wife, so old the tale has lasted 200 years, that is one old hag of a wife......

I think of you and your wife daily Steve. Hang in there buddy, and hold your wife's hand, hopefully baby will be born soon, and your wife will feel great soon. We continue to keep you and yours, including your children too, in our daily prayers. It seems like just the other day, you two got married, and honeymooned in Williamsburg.....life takes some crazy turns, and all we can do is hang on at times, when life is beyond our control. Hope and pray for the best....I know you've got to be beyond worn out and burned out.

When things resume to normalcy, you both deserve a lloooonnnnggg VACATION. Kim and I took a 2nd Honeymoon with all 3 boys. I never told you our original Honeymoon, was interrupted and rescinded by a friggin sniper in the beachfront Hotel we booked. Never even got to check in, and had to drive 3 hours back home.

We returned to the same Hotel, (the Miramar Hotel and Private Beach, in Montecito, 2 miles south of Santa Barbara). Kim is but 5'7" - 120 lbs soaking wet, yet she ate 3 lbs of Maine Lobster Tail, in back to back nights. When times are hard, often all we have are fond memories to get us through tough times, until the sun rises on the dark shadows fate deals us, your sun will soon rise, I pray. Hold your wife's hand and both of you reflect on the great times, which led you to the present day. That will hopefully bring you both some smiles, and giggles, until she feels better. I firmly believe Laughter is the best medicine, money cannot buy...!!!
Your doing a very honorable and respectable job. I admire you for your work, and plight. You my friend, and your wife, are both going above and beyond the call of duty, tho' that becomes the norm, when our soul mates are sick. I know your wife has to appreciate you every moment. You both deserve more than a medal. Soon you will hopefully get more than a medal, when your new born arrives. May your wife be blessed with good health soon....!!! Mine and Kim's heart goes out to you. Kim asks about you both daily. Recall she was hospitalized for 4 months (1 month prior delivery, and 3 mos., post delivery with the middle son, and 2 months prior with premature labor on the last son). Those are the hardest trying times, I have ever lived to see.....At times one cannot put into words, what you both are going through, yet we got a good feeling from Kim's almost fatal experiences. I hate to say that word, because I know your wife will soon be well, so I pray...."give us this day, our daily bread".

If I were the coach and didn't care about the other kids that wanted to do so, I would... but I'm neither the coach nor is he the only one interested in playing catcher...

Thanks bud... How's Kim doing? I hope she's doing better than before.

My wife (7.5 months pregnant) is now below the weight she was before she got pregnant... If this trend continues she'll be 15 or 20 pounds below pre-pregnancy weight before the end...

Kim is doing well, much better, yet still has her moments, needs alot of sleep. I too, am doing the laundry, cooking, bills, helping with the boys and grandkids. A Father's work is never done, even when his kids are 30+, as we got the grandkids right behind....

Kim says to tell you, both you, Steve, and Heather, and your kids, are in her heart. Yours and Heather's predicament, (for lack of a better word), touch Kim deeply, more than I've seen her effected by another's ill health during pregnacy. I guess that's because she can relate to well, from her own horrible pregnacies and hospitalizations, both prior and after.

Son #1-Kim gained but 18 lbs. She never did look pregnant.
Son #2- Kim weighed the same at delivery as prior to being pregnant. Premature delivery, by 1 1/2 months. That was the most horrific birth of all 3 boys. She too almost bled out then, the heperin almost killed her. Blood Clots, never fun....So, yep, she can more than relate.
Son #3-Kim gained a whopping 50 lbs. I fed her 3-4 lbs. of Maine BBQ Steamed Lobster Tails, every weekend. I cooked like a raging fool, swearing I would pack the pounds on her, and geezus did she get huge. Hospitalized at 7 months, to stop premature labor, (once again), although son #3, was born 2 weeks early, he was a chunky Linebacker of a Baby. He kicked her ribs one night, which I heard across the room, saying "Did you Hear that" (duh, stupid on my part, not thinking, stunned more like it)-Her Reply, "did I hear that, you ass, I felt it like a washboard player is inside me, you fool"....LMAO...what a hoot, in hindsight, as hard as those times were. As many times as my knees would buckle, when I was at work, and the phone rang, just knowing it would be Kim on her way to the ER.

Hang in there Steve, and let Heather know their are legions of Angels around you all.

I took Kim out this week to see a pretty good movie, book is better tho' "Heaven is for Real", then a quick dinner. Our first time out since Christmas. A bit to much for her, yet she's getting stronger for the wear, gaining some stamina back slowly. Yet, she's a trooper, and I do believe recovering well....

Thanks again for asking, and hold Heather's hand, and sing her a tune. Kim got sunburned, from the 5 days of watching the Blue Angels practice for the L.A. county air show, a week prior to going in the Hospital. They were right over our heads those 5 days, as we live out in the boondocks right across the backside of the little tiny municipal rural air field. My point, Kim getting alot of Sun, wearing wrap around glasses, still looks Like a Racoon. Thus I entertained her in the hospital and to this day, by singing the Beatles Rocky Racoon to her. A hoot.

Take good care of each other, I know you are and will. Bless your paths, all of you. We won't rest, til we know Heather is out of harms way, and healthy, and you my friend get time to rest. I know their is no rest, when a new born comes into the world. When son #3 was born, I insisted on getting up in the night with him, to give him a bottle, change diapers, whatever it took. And again as soon as I got home, I took full reign of the boys, giving her a break. One long year, yet I never seemed tired, not til a year after, then it all hit me, and my black hair turned silver grey overnight it seemed.

Always my sincerest best, Kim's too. Hope you get time to enjoy your Son's ball games. Or any relaxation and renkewal time, for all of you...!!!

Thank you and Thanks to Kim...

With son #1, she weighed 40 lbs less at time of birth (3 weeks early) than she did before she got pregnant... Son #2, she weighed ~25 lbs less at time of birth... while she is in agony and struggling majorly, she is currently doing better than either of them...

Today was the first day of double duty... oldest had a baseball game and younger had a soccer game.... I'm fricken beat...

Steve, does Heather have a planned due date? Hang in there buddy, the both of you! (I know its harder done than said)...

Her due date is June 23rd, but will do the C-section the week before.... that would be the week of June 16th. Being the 16th is her birthday and a Monday (they don't schedule C-sections on Mondays but rather Tuesdays or Wednesdays) it will either be June 17th or June 18th.

The docs were going to start scheduling within the next (weekly) appointment or two.... She didn't mention anything being scheduled when she got home last night... so we'll probably know for sure next week or the week after....

This is of course something unexpected doesn't happen needing her to go in sooner....

She got the results back from her second prenatal glucose tolerance test back & they seemed unusual, so she has to do regular testing at home now...

I feel horrible for her...

And what's worse... one of the very few things she can keep down is ice cubes which she crushes in her mouth & that sound annoys the living hell out of me on a normal day... now it's whenever I'm home.... ugh

All children are special Steve but something tells me that this one with all that Heather is going through is going to be EXTRA special. She's been in my prayers. As have you.

Thanks... I mean she's been sick like this with the other two and the one we lost, but the possible gestational diabetes is new... and she hasn't lost nearly as much weight as she had with either of the first two...

You both have got to be worn out. I hope in the years to come, the two of you get a break, and can re-knew yourselves.

I can't imagine the worry, pain, and hardships you two have endured. Hopefully no further problems....hoping, and it will be over before you know it, and a healthy new-born will give you big dividends, on both of your lives.

We feel for you both buddy...! Can't say that enough...!

Thank you... currently, she's kinda freaking out because her blood glucose levels are a tad too high, but her body has been so out of whack for the last 6 months or so where she could only eat 1 meal (at most) a day... now they want her to eat more often which is hard for her to do when it upsets her stomach so much... ugh

And thank you both!!!

Ah, Steve...your both more than Welcome. We worry about you both. Hope the Kids are doing well too.

I only wish we could do more for you. Being 3,000 miles away doesn't help. Do you or Heather have family nearby?
