can we please tone down the sexual avatars please? male and female alike.
Its so freaking annoying trying to surf the site at work on in class only to see a dude's butt hanging out or a girl having her ass "tapped" repeatedly

I saw someone had a piece of poop in a toilet as their avy and had to take it down, imo these half-naked ones are way worse. I don't mind them personally, but I know a lot of people are like me and surf this site elsewhere than in the privacy of our homes, so a little consideration would be nice.

If you don't like some of the avatars, turn off display of avatars in your preferences. While you are at it, turn off signatures. Then you will get faster loading as a bonus.

Download adblockplus add on if you're using firefox. It lets you right click an image and tell firefox to block it. But IMHO people who put that stuff up as avatars are just being selfish. Yeah, you can turn them all off but they're nice to have to identify people by as long as they aren't going to get you in trouble. Until I found adblock I had to refrain from coming here on my breaks at work.

Did you use the default pattern that AdBlock offered or choose "Custom"? Custom does just that single image. The default pattern attempts to filter similar things (by dropping down one level in the hierarchy).

Some of us like to have a computer downstairs where the kids might be running. It seems like a bummer that going on a basketball site - which should be kid friendly - is hard to do until after they go to sleep.

But, thankfully, the Adblock extension suggested here works - so, quite frankly, I no longer care.

FWIW, it is our intent to provide the best service and experience for you guys while at the same time trying to keep the site safe for work.

To this end, we've asked people to mark stuff unsafe for work as such so people know better than to click on the .1% of our threads that have pictures big enough to see from across the room.

The avatars are something of an issue, we agree. It's being discussed among the staff right now and we'll figure out a fair and reasoned policy.

I'm not so sure that surfing a sports site (or any entertainment type site) is truly safe for work. I'd be kinda pissed if my employees were wasting hours a day not helping the company go. So maybe it's not such a big deal about the language - someone has to be right up to your screen to read the print, no? Speak up if you feel I'm wrong about this.
