I'm not sure if you can really say we were trying to screw with other people's fun. I certainly wasn't; I talked with many of you on here, and wasn't ill received. Kid chocolate hadn't posted in quite a while, before they were banned. Yes, pegs generally referred to Blazer fans as "assholes" (without referring to anyone specifically), but based on the thread and his, personal, past experiences, it was seemingly justified. Besides, I've seen people on here say much worse to others.

You're getting your time line mixed up, Mike. Cpaw quit just after the Blazer board came here, and that had to do with KC being treated differently (on a similar note, please tell me how p-diddy stepping in crap is over the top, but avatars with boobs hanging out are okay).

Check the staff list on NDF, Mike. Losing netsdaily was directly a product of the incident.

The second paragraph is complete crap. I'm not going to call you an asshole, because you weren't around S2 at the time of the Blazer move. NONE of us cared about being the bigfish. KC and Pegs hardly posted when the Blazer community came here. I came up with a few drafts for the RC2 banner, remember? I posted on here almost as much as I posted on the Nets board! GMJ certainly didn't care about S2 being dominated by the Nets; he often said he enjoyed the Raptors board more than the Nets. When JBBers became pissy about the move, GMJ sent them all personal PMs in an attempt to keep them around. Xenophobic? Not really.

All that being said, I have no animosity towards you, Denny, or S2. Dealing with Denny was a pain at times, but I respect the time and effort he put into S2.

Oh, and I never leaked info from the mod forum. I still can't believe I was banned on a hunch.

I'm a Blazer fan, and many can attest to the fact that I am an asshole. So, if anyone in the Nets forum referred to me that way, they were right.

I don't care where you guys post. On s2, I just follow the activity. Beats talking to myself in the Bucs forum.

I'm a Redskins fan as well as a Blazer fan. The problem is, The Danny has effed my team so royally, I can't bear to talk about them.

Of course, if KC or cpawfan are called assholes and douchebags, it's okay. =p

I'm not sure that's accurate (either that they are, or that they could be called that; I always liked cpawfan, personally), but are they posters here at this point?

I never thought there was a problem with Nets fans on this forums. My recollections of GMJ and WarPoetForLife were good ones. Dumpy, too, though he didn't get banned.

pegs and KC rarely posted here.

Pegs has over 12,000 posts, he posted here. Those guys are missed man, I want them to come back.

By "here," I meant on the Portland forum. If he posted here much, I didn't notice it.

And his posts were actual quality, unlike your useless crap.

<3

:dunno: I'm hurt. But that's okay...

and he didn't post in here because he didn't care much for the Blazers and also at the time they hated everyone not affiliated with Portland. I say bring them back.

1. Cpaw left with a snarky remark about Blazers fans. Yes, obviously he was pissed about what he perceived as poor treatment of KC, but his manner of protest was inappropriate for anyone, much less an admin of this site who had lots of other avenues to voice his disagreement and argue for some sort of alternatives.

2. Similar behavior from other guys (mostly GMJ), despite the fact that it wasn't widely noticed amongst the general Blazer's community (because we acted quickly to put a stop to it) was going on.

Combine those two things and it's pretty clear that despite their initial stance, when the rubber hit the road their response to not getting their way was to publicly try to pick fights with Blazers guys and cry hypocrisy. Yes because of KC, but the manner in which they did it was by showing a real willingness to piss in everyone else's cornflakes. That stuff is absolutely not going to fly with me. You accept that kind of stuff from kids who don't know any better, not guys who you know do.

Perhaps it's not fair to say they weren't willing to "share" S2, but they, especially cpaw, had a very big voice here and they had the opportunity to push things in a constructive direction, but the moment there was a major disagreement, it seemed people were quick to start taking shots at Blazers posters as a method of public protest. Perhaps the theory of being willing to work for a much bigger community was different than the practice of actually having to do it. Perhaps they were just really mad.

I dunno... but the tone and behavior of those guys changed almost from the the moment the situation did with getting another large community of posters here.. If you think it's all 100% about KC, then that's fine, but their willingness to "go to bat" for the guy by lashing out at a completely separate and uninvolved set of new posters certainly wasn't the right way to go about things. And I do know that the situation with KC couldn't go on with him behaving the way he was behaving, and we'd exhausted other alternatives.

All that being said, I have no animosity towards you, Denny, or S2. Dealing with Denny was a pain at times, but I respect the time and effort he put into S2.

I likewise have lots of respect for the time and effort you and the rest of those guys put in here, and I wish you all were willing to stay and have fun. I don't that was gonna happen though. I don't think Denny or I or anyone else was asking for anything unreasonable from anyone. But again, that's just my opinion, and what's done is done.

GMJ was the worst. he would throw shots at blazer fans all the time. i dont even know why he was so mad at "us"

The evolution of this thread is awesome

edit: I got new sig material out of this thread! :ghoti:

To be fair, I don't know of any site that has much in the way of Bobcats posts. I remember when MikeDC and I were admins at BBF, we used to talk among the staff about some sort of crunch project to build up that forum there, but it never gained any traction.

SportsTwo gets ~28,000 visitors per month, about 25% of those are first time visitors. It's been consistently that way when we had an active Nets forum and still that way since NetsDaily's forum opened. While the Blazers forum rocks in all the good ways, it represents 1/2 to 2/3 of all our activity. Again to be fair, we have decent Bulls, Lakers, Warriors, Raptors, Rockets, MMA, and Footy forums where you'll find a decent amount of activity. Good posters/people every one in those forums, IMO.

My view is that you guys have been using vb3 for years at other sites; if you want to find our other forums and post there, you will. I don't discourage you from posting all over the site, but I am thrilled to have you all doing your thing even in the Blazers and OT forums. At least two guys who came over to S2 with you have become mods here of our other forums. MikeDC and I have a lot of experience as admins of a site with several boards about as big as this blazers forum, and we recognize what a robust and mature team forum looks like and this is it! More power to you all.

If you all feel motivated to help, the least you can do is stick around and keep posting after the NBA season is over.

The NBA season ends?

After the Finals is the draft. After the draft is free agency. Then summer league. Then preseason.

Then the regular season.

Rinse, wash, repeat.

they said they wouldn't miss us lol

combine that with their hack issue and now their repeated password resetting bs - they are in a much much different position than this time last year - good on them, they deserve it - bunch of fucktards.

to be honest, the majority of posters there likely don't miss you guys at all.

Maybe not. There are still nearly as many posts in the Blazers forum as there are in the rest of the Western Conference forums combined. Someone is probably missing us.

Goddammit, Denny, was there any reason to ban my IP? All I'm trying to do is converse with fans of the team that my team's star player is being traded to.

:check: C'mon we can use all the posters we can get. WarPoet, you're okay in my book.

They might not miss us but the whole BBF hardly gets any posts from what I can see now. I do agree outside of the Blazer forum BBF gets more post the S2 but still not that much. I would rather post here even if there wasn't anybody but Blazers fans posting at S2. It is just a better forum IMO.

IMO, there are way too many forums, seems like trying to be all places in one place. even when I try to look at other forums, there are so many choices, its overwhelming.

I'd just make it a hoops only forum with a forum for each team, general NBA discussion and one off topics board.

NM...i saw the tabs thing up front.....but too many off topic boards IMO.
It practically is just a basketball forum + Offtopic forum anyway in terms of activity.

At least it gives a proper forum to discuss the superbowl or whatever if basketball/Blazer fans ever watch another sport.

yeah, we'd just post it on OT board anyways.

I'd be sweet for everyone to post in the RTT thread, but I know you're all comfertable in here.
