Thats funny. When James Worthy was questioned about it during the "real training camp" stuff on NBATV he said he was only wearing it for "confidence" much like Richard Hamilton does his mask......:tsktsk:
 
I always thought that Rip wears it cause if he breaks his nose again.. he is done with Basketball... I thought I heard that a few years ago though, so I could remember wrong

Nope nope not true. He tried playing without it and he said it felt weird, weird enough that he was thinking about it instead of the game, so he put it back on.
 
The body is not made for 7 footers, weighing over 260 pounds.

Oden and Bynum have a chance to go down as a great duo of centers, with many battles over the next decade (with Bynum on the losing end 90% of the time I hope...). But they both could also go down as the Steve Stipanovich and Bill Walton of their era.
 
That sucks! I don't wish injuries on anybody.............. except one or two of you JACK HOLES on here! You know who you are!

One thing I noticed about Bynum, which this article mentions, he's extremely knock-kneed.
