A garnishing of wages, of sorts, I presume? If each team gets X amount of dollars for TNT broadcast rights, Clippers get X-2.5 million.

Perhaps, but I don't think that would actually help the league. Like Sly said, they might use the non pay of the fine to expedite and further reason to force him to sell.
I don't think they are going to get both, maybe the punishment sounds good to the offended, but I don't think they can make it stick. Unless Sterling just goes along
with the whole nine yards.
 
maybe sterling is christian, if so, he would HAVE to pay it, or else he would be disobeying a direct order from the jesus

I thought the league was justified in their actions, however after actually listening to the entire conversation I think the league's actions were unwarranted. They're just trying to please fans, players, advertisers...

No I don't think they will go broke. I do think the new commish will look a little foolish for making a penalty he can't make stick. After Sterling is forced out, it won't hurt him one little bit
if he doesn't pay.

I don't think Jesus has a hand in this game. I think the fine was for show for the offended and the commish has no chance to make it stick.

On second though, perhaps Jesus reminding us, "Vengeance is mine saith the Lord". Partners forcing out a partner is fine, but the fine is an attempt at vengeance.

My only question about this whole urm affair. Is WHO tapped this up? Somebody is getting paid to set this up, whether its in vindication or a sh_t load of money. And what third party benefits the most from this whole shenanigan. Not that I care an iota what happens to Sterling, but somebody is using our sensibilities against us.
 
Not trying to defend Sterling at all, but Magic is kind of uppity...
