I always thought Demarcus cousins behavior was childish and he is a headcase but at the same time, the media needs to be checked. We live in a society now where too much fake shit gets put out there and people immediately believe it whether it's sports media, etc. Look at what canzano does. I wouldn't mind any player getting in his face. The media needs to be reminded that they don't know these guys lives or shit that has happened. media needs to be checked when wrong. Nobody checks the media anymore, people just believe whatever they see without actually doing research.
This is the entirety of what the reporter wrote about Cousins' brother:
"For Cousins, this is his second late-night outing on the club circuit this year that ended badly. In May, TMZ caught him at The DrYnk in Tampa with his younger brother, Jaleel. The celebrity gossip website reported that he and his brother were trying to get into the club’s DJ area when a confrontation broke out. Jaleel wound up getting shocked with a Taser and arrested while friends hustled DeMarcus out of the place."
If his brother was arrested, that is a matter of public record, not just something a reporter made up to make him look bad. His brother is also a professional basketball player (D League). So, coverage in the media of his actions on, and off the court (when they lead to an arrest) are fair game. I don't see what the reporter wrote that incensed Cousins so much. It's not like the reporter called Jaleel Cousins and immature douchebag. Cousins is being sued over the recent incident in New York and his brother was arrested after the incident in Tampa in May. Sounds to me like the reporter was just reporting.
If DeMarcus Cousins doesn't want reporters writing about his brother getting arrested, maybe he should direct his anger at his brother for getting arrested.
Lol, yeah I just wrote that. I crack me up sometimes. Of course DeMarcus Cousins will never hold his brother accountable for the actions that led to his arrest, because no one has never held DeMarcus Cousins accountable for his behavior. He always blames someone else for his poor behavior, the refs, his teammates, his coaches, his GMs, his owners and now multiple members of the media. Note, those are all plural. I know SAC is a shit show of an organization, but he's burned through several coaches, multiple GMs and multiple ownership groups, and has feuded with all of them. Now he threatened a reporter from the Sacramento Bee and refused to speak until a reporter from Cowbell Kingdom was forced to leave the room.
The Kings didn't do themselves any favors when they drafted Cousins. Yes, he's an amazing talent, but what has it gotten them? They didn't even come close to having a winning season in his first six years there and won't again this year. Seven years of losing while coddling and trying to appease this childish, immature bully has gotten them nothing but more losing and the headaches caused by this headcase. They need to trade him for the good (and sanity) of the organization, even if it means getting less than comparable talent in return. They will never win one damn thing with DeMarcus Cousins in SAC. They've fired multiple coaches to appease him and brought in a more player friendly GM to coddle him, and nothing has changed. At some point, you just need to cut your losses and move on. That time is now.
