(From the time): Of Which, You were 8 years of age, until you became 21, who would you of picked for your All Star Teams.
1- Pick One Starter for every position, and a 2nd backup, for both NL and AL teams. Choose 5 Starting Pitchers (SP), and 2 Relief Pitchers (RP). You may use SP's as RP's if you so choose.
You need not annotate who the starter is versus the back up,
2- Pick 2 Designated Hitters, even tho' the DH was not applicable in several posters era's, such as my own, 59's, YankFan, MajorBall, ArtUSAF, and Rick, and any others, whose age I do not know, ie bldrides. (hey Young Man, what era were you born in? No need to say which year, only era will suffice, unless you wish to reveal your age).....me, I'm eternal, unlike Rick who is just plain OLD...He played with Spalding, Doubleday, Connie Mack, et al., to invent the game....!!!
3- You may switch around OF Positions, ie, if you want to put Clemente in CF, then do so. If you want specific AS players, who share the same position, and can't make room for both, you may switch their positions as well, or apply the player towards your DH. Examples, Maury Wills switched to 2nd base from SS. Or- Harmon Killebrew, played LF, 1st and 3rd base.
Same applies to Players who played in both leagues, ie Frank Robinson, Frank Howard, Nolan Ryan, et al.
4- If your Roster is filled with Specific Infielders, who may of played several positions, or you roster can't be completed with all your All Star picks, then you may switch a SS with a 2nd baseman, a 3rd Baseman with a 1st baseman, and so forth; as noted above.
No need to pick Managers, or Coaches.
Note: If Rick picks anyone 20 years after the dead ball era, or you do NOT see these players: Lou Gehrig, Babe Ruth, Christy Matthewson, Ty Cobb, and Walter Johnson, then we know Rick's not telling the truth about his age.
