I agree with Sly. If that isn't circumventing CBA nothing is. Fuck the NBA.

Seems like offering Melo and his wife a TV show would be considered tampering and trying to go around the salary cap.

Yeah, I really don't understand how that's legal. They're being offered compensation to sign there, and it's a compensation that most teams can't match.

1) A 15 minute pitch from Magic explaining what it means to be face of Lakers.

2) We're the entertainment capital of world. You're married to an actress. She'll have better/more opportunities than in NY.

3) Movie producer Joel Silver (made Sherlock Holmes, Lethal Weapon, etc) made 4 minute trail about him being face of Lakers that was narrated by Toby Maguire

4) TWC said Melo can pitch a show idea to them. They used example of show based around him and LaLa. FYI, TWC shows 24 Laker-related content.

5) Look how famous last 4 stars of Lakers are and have been after retirement. Being face of Lakers comes with a whole lot of perks.

Magic Johnson....
"I should have died of AIDS in the 90s. And now I'm worth of half a billion dollars. The Lakers are fucking magical".
Then walks away.

It sure and the hell beats:

With you, Kobe, Nash, and Randle under contract we will have the D League all stars round out the rest of the roster.

Kobe must be thrilled with Magic pitching Melo on being the Lakers' face of the franchise.

I know a lot of people don't like Kobe and I think a lot of it is due to that he is a Lakers for life but I don't think he is that selfish anymore. I also think he knows where he's at as a player his age and is ready to hand the Face of the franchise torch down to another player.

I like Kobe Bryant as a player and don't think he's selfish. But I think he's insanely competitive and protective of his image and is the last person who'd ever voluntarily "hand off" the designation of face of the franchise as long as he's on the roster.

"Hey Melo, do you want to be the next Cedric Ceballos?"

Calling LaLa an actress is generous. She's nothing more than a socialite.

Her claim to fame is hosting MTV countdown.

NYC has more TV shows nowadays. And lots of movies film here. Plus, there's Broadway. I wouldn't necessarily call Los Angeles the entertainment capital of the world.

He would have had a better chance of doing this with Phil as his coach. And if Howard was there and Phil told Kobe it was time to hand the reigns off to someone else, he would have listened to him.

Lakers should sign LeBron and trade (S&T) Kobe for Melo. Kobe's reunites with Phil and Fisher.
