That was game 7 like meltdown, that is going to sting for a long time for Duck fans. It also brings back memories of going to the finals with so much hope only to see the Pistons and Bulls just be the better team. Too bad for Duck fans, sports can be very humbling thing. One day you are on top of the world, and then you are just left destroyed.

This is nothing like the game 7 meltdown. The Blazers were kicking the shit can out of the Lakers, the Ducks never had that momentum in this game.

In a way, it was like watching OSU and UO play, where OSU never really plays that great and UO just plays better. (OSU being UO and etc).

They had SO MANY opportunities to score. That was just sad.

I just mean the terrible feeling of game 7.

When you will you guys learn.... SEC is college football and then theres everyone else. big ten and ohio state have finally accepted this. Its as predictable as the Blazers getting beat in Denver.

Auburn's defensive line totally dominated this game. Oregon does not have either a super offensive lineman or a super defensive lineman: I think you have to have one of those to be a national champion. Chip kelly was late in this game to recognize that their normal plan of running the other team down was not gonna work, they probably needed to start attacking Auburn's secondary earlier.

Props to some great plays by fringe Duck players on the kicking teams and for kelly having the guts to make those calls.

This was like when Pre finished 4th at the Olympics. It wasn't that he lost - it was that he went out in the biggest race of his career, and ran what was (for him) a lousy time.

Clearly Auburn was superior up front - I couldn't believe it took so long for Oregon to realize that and start throwing the ball to the outside.

You guys and the national media say this: Oregon was crushed by Auburn.

I say this: With 7 seconds left. the game was tied. Auburn won by only 3 points, only by shooting the free throw to break the tie. It wasn't decided on a real basket, just a free throw (field goal).

Instead of losing big, we came out of this with our dignity and our #2 rating intact.

I don't think we were crushed. In fact, I think it's somewhat laughable how some people think that the Ducks were dominated. They played like crap and still almost won. That doesn't say much for Auburn or the SEC.

Auburn didn't play their best game (they had a couple drops, etc.) but after watching the game and knowing what the Ducks are capable of doing, I bet Oregon beats Auburn more than half the time in a seven game series.

Of course, that doesn't really mean much at this point.

It reminded me of the Blazers/Heat game last night. The "home" team, in spite of having less talent and not playing their best, was still in it until the very end. But with the game on the line, the team with the most talent made just enough big plays to win the game.

I'd like to congratulate the Ducks on finishing #3 in the country. I'm sure TCU will be #2.

I wonder what Canzano will criticize Chip Kelly for this time.

Uhm.. the Ducks played bad because Auburn's defense shut their offense down.

well since you arent in the south I guess this game couldnt have opened your eyes much.. but from what I gather on some SEC boards they realized that the Left coast can play some football too, Oregon stood toe to toe with the best the SEC has to offer. Both defenses played their hearts out, and I tip my cap to Auburn. But SEC has nothing to do with this at all. But carry on with this shit hear, cause you know it wont fly in the Ducks forum ;)

I referenced Game 7 vs the Lakers to my brother too not because the games were similar but because that was the last time Oregon was close to winning something. Sucks. Fucking sucks. I'm sick of losing.

not at all. I am very proud of what this team has accomplished.. and methinks its just the beginning.

The picks were unforced. The penalties were stupid. The execution in the red zone was just piss poor. That had nothing to do with the Auburn defense. Plenty of times the Ducks looked like they were rolling and then they'd make a stupid mistake. Yes, the Auburn D played great, but to give them all the credit would be wrong.

and very un Gene Chizik like to give credit to the other team ;)

I think the ducks were just too small--our O line was dominated. I'm not really upset with the loss. We showed pride by keeping them below/at their scoring average. I can live with this loss. Newton didn't burn us.

Also Thomas being a first year starter at QB getting the ducks to a BCS championship=win win--PERIOD. This guy has a GREAT future.

They definitely got a lot of penetration, but I thought the Ducks handled it well, and actually used it to their advantage. They had a lot of screen passes and they made the Tigers look bad on more than one occasion. I seriously think that if they had nutted up and actually scored when they were in the red zone, this game would have gone completely different. Hell, if they had scored when they were on the ONE, this game might have gone differently.

Not scoring at all on the 1 was ballgame. We should've taken the FG there, IMO.

Sad thing for Beaver fan is that outside of Jeff Maehl pretty much the entire Duck team will be back next year and a borderline top 5 recruiting class coming in. I don't see the Beavers being better than the Ducks in the forseeable future.
