lol. Canzano chimes in.

I have information that is going to come as a bit of a surprise to Trail Blazers fans, and I don't know how else to put this so I'm just going to come right out with it.

It's this: Hedo Turkoglu's wife is not even living in Canada.

It's true. The $33 million free-agent who jilted Portland for Toronto last summer because his wife reportedly preferred a metropolitan city over the Northwest is living in Orlando with the couple's 1-year old daughter.

"She's never even been to Canada once," Hedo said, "you could check her papers and my little baby's papers if you want."

Not sure if this was brought up in the Blazers/Raptors game thread, but there was a woman at the game tonight that had a sign that read "Dear Mrs Turkoglu, thank you for Andre Miller."

Awesome.

That was likely was brought up in the game thread, but I was at the game, so I don't know and I'm too lazy to look that shit up.

Psh.... once again Canzano with a smug article, telling us what to think and feel. Fuck off.

Canzano doesn't understand that people boo Hedo because he lied twice about signing here - not because of his wife. The wife is just a funny story about Hedo possibly being whipped. Canzano also thought Hedo was only making 33 million. Silly Canzano.

We boo Hedo because he rejected us. And that matters to me. But in all honesty, all he was worth was a boo during the starting lineups. Not every possession. Otherwise? Not truly worth our time.

I'm going to go and take him out of my signature. Finally. I was waiting for tonight. I got what I wanted. I'm done. He isn't worth one more ounce of energy from us.

It was the Raptors. The fans needed something to get excited about.
"The introduction booing I expect," Turkoglu said, "but the whole game?"

He smiled when he said that.

That busted me up. In just about any other arena, he'd probably have been right.

Hmmmmm...something's conflicting.

Oh, well. :dunno:

It's come to my attention that the Hedo Turkoglu signing was based largely on the promise that his wife would enjoy the cultural diversity of her new home. I talked to somebody tonight who knows several contacts of NBA players and who has a solid track record on these things, and his wife is extremely disappointed about her new home and feels she was misled about Turkish community in Toronto.

.."Don't know who made that story about my wife," Turkoglu said. "She would love it here. Or anywhere. The last second Toronto came in and it felt like a good fit -- East Coast style. I thought I fit good. My wife never said she didn't like to be in Portland."..

..."She's never even been to Canada once," Hedo said, "you could check her papers and my little baby's papers if you want."

They're probably both making it up ... and I still don't care.

Why would his wife leave a warm city during the winter time in Canada. When it's summer, I'm sure she'll make her way over with Hedo's daughter. Once she comes, she won't wanna leave. For those who haven't been to Toronto, it's fucking awesome.

Agree Toronto's pretty nice. So is Portland. Both are better than Orlando unless you are taking the kids to DisneyWorld

I wonder how much of Bryan Colangelo's hot pursuit of Hedo was based on KP wanting him? In the same way we have a tendency to justify a player by saying "Well, SA wanted him, so he must be good". I wouldn't be surprised to have seen Colangelo sell the Toronto ownership by saying, "Yeah, I know he's old, but we expect him to play at the same level or even improve. After all, Hedo was Kevin Pritchard's first choice and we know what kind of talent evaluator he is. He is willing to sign him to a five year deal, we should beat that offer."

Canzano isn't worth my effort to read. Plus I won't support him by clicking his link.

Hedo isn't worth my effort to boo. Plus I wouldn't flatter him by doing it.

The important thing here is that Hedo kept KP from making the worst move of his career. Plus if we'd signed Hedo, Nico would be Turkey-Glued to the bench right now. That would suck.

A-fucking-men

I enjoyed the fact JJ got a round of applause. Goes to the whole Blazer fans being knowledgable. We're not cavemen who boo at everybody. WE boo Turk for playing with our organization this summer and we cheer JJ for the attitude and commitment he gave the Blazers when playing here.

Hats off to the RG crowd yesterday.

...and, if Nic hadn't have had the opportunity to "prove" his worth, Outlaw and Blake might still be with the team.

KP should send Hedo and his wife on a vacation anywhere they'd like.

How about a vacation to Toronto? Apparently she's never been :devilwink:

You remember that Hedo snatched the camera phone from some groupies trying to photograph him in a Toronto nightclub. He was without his wife there, consistent with his story to Canzano that she hasn't visited Toronto. But this poster says Hedo lied to Canzano.

"Hedo's wife has definitely been to Toronto. I bumped into her, Turkoglu, their kid and bodyguard in Yorkville earlier this season."

What was the original source for his wife influencing him toward Toronto?

"A source says Turkoglu’s wife wanted badly to live in Toronto, a far more European-style city"

article says original source had been "Ric Bucher's Twitter feed"

"Toronto's shot at getting Hedo: apparently his wife loves the city. Any (happily) married man can tell you how much weight that carries."

So, once you've been there, it sucks? :dunno:

My Canadian cousins say it's dirty, un-Canadian, and smells like France. :sigh:

Mrs Hedo knows if she leaves the USA she ain't getting back in. It's wouldn't be that hard for PA to get the Hedo family on the "No Fly" list.

Here's the latest story, adjusted from the Canzano version. His wife HAS been to Toronto while he's been a Raptor (only occasionally), but she had never been there BEFORE that. I think that Canzano said she has never been there, ever.

"Turkoglu said that as of last July, his wife had never even been to Toronto, and since then she has continued to live in Orlando with their small child, visiting Toronto only occasionally."

If his wife is unhappy, it's probably a "performance" issue.
