OT: Hinrich to Washington

Would you trade Roy and Camby for that package?

Camby's a lot cheaper than Okafor, we don't have a legit replacement for Roy, and we don't have a penny-pinching owner, so I don't see the situations as at all comparable.

And before you ask, no, I don't personally think that would be enough for Paul, but I don't think it's as far off as you suggest.

Bottom of the 9th, and KP is at the plate...

Id Take

Paul
Roy
????
LMA
Oden

over

Rose
????
LBJ
Bosh
Noah

Call me crazy

Your crazy since the first line-up is pure fantasy and the second one has a chance at being real.

Replace Paul with Bayless, Miller or some other mediocre point guard then look at the lineups.

That Bulls team would fucking pummel the Blazers in a 7 game series.

Plus, they will be good for the entire prime of Roy, LMA and Oden's careers.

Fuck. I really hope the Bulls get boned in free agency because if they don't Portland is going to be an also ran just like they were in the early 1990's

Fuck it. With a healthy Oden, we compete with any of those teams. But we're only going as far as Oden is taking us.

Kenny Vance is a fucking idiot. He still has no clue about the meaning of capspace. And his love affair with Hinrich is borderline scary.

Against a team that has LeBron, Bosh and Rose? The only chance Portland would have is that the players don't mesh well with one another. They functioned as a team Portland might win a game.

Yep. Against a team that has LeBron, Bosh and Rose. LMA and Bosh largely cancel each other out. LeBron wins big over anyone we have, but Roy beats Rose handily in terms of contributions. We saw what Oden has done to anyone the Bulls have put in the middle. Noah gets slapped around like Oden is Ike Turner.

Like I said, fuck it. We're good enough to win a title if we're healthy. All we have to do is gel.

It's not nothing. They still have to pay Kirk's ridiculous contract. Hinrich is incredibly mediocre and doesn't really help a lottery team that much.

Not only that, but they just enabled CHI potentially set up a dynasty for the next ten years.

I'm not sure that Washington's a lottery team in the East anymore.

John Wall, Josh Howard, Andray Blatche, Javalle McGee and Kirk Heinrich add in what they get for Arenas. Thats a pretty decent team, possibly a playoff team in the East.

When can this trade become official?

Still, they go from "really crappy" to "mediocre." Is that worth enabling a conference rival build a dynasty?

@johnhollinger
OKC swallowed $2 million to get the 18th pick. Wash swallowed $17 million to get 17th pick. Quick quiz: Which team is run better?

Follow-up question--how much of Sam Presti has John Hollinger swallowed?

Read yesterday that Miami was willing to just dump Beasley for cap space! They were talking about building the future of this team around DWade and him. Nutz!

Miami cleared cap yesterday by dealing Daequan Cook and their pick to the Thunder. They had the most money to spend as of yesterday and enough for two max contract free agents to pair with Wade.

You think MIN would accept Joel and something for a trade exception? Then we can get Beasley and a future first...

What's your beef with Presti? Where has he failed to make good moves? The guy has been two steps ahead of the league for the past two years.

+1

As many of us have been saying for a long time. Not to put pressure on Greg, but it all depends on him.

Petty jealousy and resentment, nothing more. Presti lucks into Durant, does a pretty decent job with everything else, and he's everyone's golden boy. KP strikes mud with Oden, does a pretty decent job with everything else, and he gets raked over the coals. So, my frustration over the KP situation has manifested itself into an irrational disdain for his most natural rival.

I do not have any resentment for Presti - he does well, even if other than the Durant pick - he really did not excel much. The PJ hire initially was a big mistake, Jeff Green for the 5th pick was a mistake imho - especially when he and Durant really do need to play the same position to maximize their contributions - and at this point it is clear that Joakim Noah and Marc Gasol are both going to be better players and a much better fit, add the Harden over Evans/Curry pick last year - and it is clear that he does not really walk on water.

He is a good GM, however.

Good yes. God-like no. Media reports seems to suggest he is more the latter than the former. It bugs me.

That is all.

They're both two of the better GMs in the league, that's all. I'll stick take a healthy KP lineup over Presti's.

Whoever the next GM is should be thankful KP laid the foundation. Great roster and won back the fans. One of the few GMs in the league that could pull it off in the amount of time he did. That's why it's ridiculous that he's probably being fired.

Well, the same happened to KP a year before. That's the nature of the business, I suppose. "He is pretty good" stories do not sell newspapers, I suppose.
