Off the top of my head, here is a list.

Kenny Anderson - first real HS superstar I can remember; in Sports Illustrated at age 14. Solid NBA player.

Shaquille O'Neal - went to college, one of the 5 greatest centers of all-time.

Kevin Garnett - took a year or two; Top 50 NBA all-time.

Kobe Bryant - drafted late, but well-known in hs

Amare Stoudemire - All-Star and All-NBA player

Dwight Howard - better than I thought he'd be as a pro; the most dominant player in the game when you combine both ends of the court

LeBron James - yeah

Sebastian Telfair - all NYC hype

There are many others.

Pretty much every guy in the NBA was the best player on their high school and college teams.

dejuan wagner scored like 183 points in one quarter

Moses Malone?
Shawn Kemp? (the athletic one)

with his eyes closed, both hands tied behind his back, and while having sex with 3 women and one young goat.
