Is this the year that Andre Miller gets PapaG off his back? :devilwink:

Troll thread aside, it should be well-known that I actually stopped hating on Miller his last year in Portland, and appreciating his strengths while not dwelling on his weaknesses.

I hope Denver wins. Game One was fun to watch, though. Jarrett Jack played like crap, as did Curry, and GS still almost won.

Hope it goes 7 games. Fun ball to watch compared to some of the slowdown series like NYK/Boston, which was boring ISO ball the entire game.

One game tells us nothing. He has gone up 1-0 a couple times before.

Jack had a near triple double (10/8/10) off the bench. He grabbed the biggest rebound of the game and he also set up Curry for the game tying three. He hardly played like "crap."

Oh come on, it was a joke!

You have to admit that you were notorious for bringing up his inability to get out of the first round.

Miller and Lawson abused poor Jack on the defensive end with dribble penetration. I actually felt bad for Jarrett.

And yet the Warriors had the game tied with 10 seconds to play in Denver where the Nuggets had won 23 in a row.

If Jack had a poor game (and maybe he did) then Lawson had a really poor game.

You backed off about 25%, but kept about 75% of your offense going against him.

You were on a losing streak. Remember when you invited anyone to bet you that Romney wouldn't win, and many jumped at it including me, and I kept offering, and you never answered?

And I'm still trying to find that $2.00 gallon gas he promised.

I invited the first to accept the bet. It was Treaty of Batum, and I paid him $200 after the election, which he tried to use on people to show up for drinks. I think BlazerWookie was the only one who showed.

I actually owned up to my bet and paid it in full. I don't know what you're talking about here, but that's not a new thing. Unlike you, I'm not afraid to actually leave my house and meet people from this board.

It's going to take a big comeback at this point. Plus, Dre is getting abused on defense.

The one thing that gets lost in the mix with this Nuggets squad is how young they are. I think we all tend to forget that because of how deep their rotation goes, but they're pretty green when it comes to playoff experience.

The only two Nuggets with significant experience are Iggy and Andre Miller, so this next game (or two or three) will be really telling in terms of Miller's ability to quarterback a team. Regardless Miller's play tonight, I'm sure the rest of the team is rattled as hell right now, down 1-3 in the first round, and Miller's got to be a veteran presence going forward and keep these young guys focused.

Nope, Nate. This isn't the year. Yet another first round flameout for Andre Miller and at least the third time his team was up 1-0. And NOVoodoo- the Warriors are younger. At least the Nuggets were in the playoffs last year.

Andre Miller leads the NBA for most regular season assists in history without winning a first round series!

It's funny because I was thinking about this thread after they lost.

Poor Dre

He's a loser. Nothing wrong with it, but he's an NBA loser who can't get it done in the playoffs, yet has played enough years to accumulate great stats. I knew it when he was a Blazer, and said as much.

But why.... is it really him? How could it be one guy on a team of 12 dudes? He's not a bad player. He plays hard and he tries to do what the team needs to win. I feel bad for him because I think he's a good point guard.

To be fair, he did personally win game 1 for them. He's not entirely a loser.

Obviously it has a lot to do with his teammates as well. The problem I have with Miller is that he has accumulated elite statistics, but is not an elite player because he can't shoot or defend. That's not his fault; physically, he's limited, and has gotten more out of his game than most players who are more gifted athletically.
