I am watching the Spurs game and wow. That guy is good. We blew it on that pick, 3 times. I like our guys, but I would rather have Blair then Injuredgraph.

6-6 shooting and 8 rebounds so far. He is looking like a top 5 pick tonight. Pre season he did pretty damn well too.

Our medical staff said stay away from Blair.

And we all know how good our medical staff has been.

What's so crazy is that we were the only team to pass him over.

add "three times" to that, and you're correct.

great instinctive rebounding, but utterly invisible on defense. i wasn't really that impressed overall.

Poppavich was coaching him on the sideline about defense it looked like. He will learn. Poppavich is a DEFENSIVE minded coach.

Actually, make that "three times, while 3 times taking PFs" and you're still correct. But it's not like I'm bitter. Go Pendergraph!

Wait until Pendergraph is healthy and you see him work the towel from the sidelines before you compare him to a guy who's an imperfect and potentially chronically damaged guy who has showed flashes of dominance at age 20.

(Just to clarify: we should have taken him instead of Pendergraph. He might be a shooting star (short lifespan) but he's very very good at what he does and would help this team.)

Ed O.

I got so excited when Blair slipped to us. I was just about jumping up and down...Then we picked Claver...I can't say anything bad about Claver because I haven't seen him against NBA competition but I think Blair would have fit perfect. It's ridiculous he slipped as far as he did. SA has made a habit of getting quality players who have slipped in the draft. George Hill looks great too...

blair had an impressive debut but no need to overreact to one game.

LOL. When he did this in summer league, it was "it's against summer league scrubs". When he did it in the preseason, it was "let's wait until he does it in a real game". Now he's done that, and we're "overreacting to one game".

Since his loss of ACLs, he's dominated the Big East for two years, been All-NCAA First Team, a historical-level college rebounder, legit scorer and garbageman, dominated Summer League games, done well in preseason, and put up a double-double in his first NBA game in 22 minutes off the bench for a contending team.

Forgive me if I question our wisdom in thinking that 2 second-round PFs were better for us than him.

Anytime you get what was it 28 and 22? I think it's a sign that you are for real.

But the Spurs don't run enough so he must be a horrible coach.

Well he did pretty much the same if not better in pre season. So its not just one game.
it's only one meaningful game.

saying he looks like a top 5 pick is overreacting to one game. i think blair is going to be a solid player and i think(and thought) the blazers should have taken him with their late first round pick. but it's still overreacting to one game. one game over the full season is almost meaningless. plenty of people have great(and bad) single games.

They run more than us, and win championships. Coincidence...? :)

Totally agree on not being a "top 5" guy. But Top 30 guy still would've been a good deal at 31 and 33.

The guy is missing a kneecap. Call me in 3 years and if he's still in the league, I may think otherwise.

Uh, I think his kneecaps are fine--he's missing ACLs. :dunno:

To put a better point on it, he had a double-double in his first game in 22 minutes, for a team most consider better than us. Our last eight draft picks combined (including 4 from this year) had 0 minutes.

that game was good enough for me to add him and drop noah on my fantasy team!

They run more than Portland don't they?
I'm not sure, but even if they do it's not enough. And KP should be fired because we don't have a PG as good as Tony Parker.

Hell, I'd blow this entire thing up and start over!

He got a lot of minutes because it was a blowout, I'm not sure he'll be on your fantasy team a week from now. A guy like Terrance Williams might be a better long term pickup.

That'd be tough. With Roy and LMA owning long, bloated contracts until 2015, (and PPP status) we'd have to take a talent hit to do that swap and get multiple teams involved. And with Oden making well over MLE this year, he's probably too expensive to move for equal talent, which is roughly Bargnani right now. Our cap space is only at around 2.7M or so, so we can't do uneven swaps...

Guh. Looks like we're stuck with the core. Somehow we'll have to find a way to make it work. Which brings us back to--how you gonna make it work, Coach?

Until I see consecutive years of this team getting worse, I'm not going to worry about it. Winning 10 more games each season is something I'm ok with, so I'm not ready to freak out just yet.

I love our team, potential, growth, best player, core, coach, GM, owner, and fan support. If I had to look for a negative, I'm sure I could find something, but there is no pointwhen so many things are going right.

i got him :D he was my last pick ive been looking for a better SG/SF only got ariza and courtney lee and jason terry and him

The draft class wasn't that great, so "a top 5 pick" isn't that huge of a compliment. From what it looks like, his ability to instantly contribute and looking away from his medical records, he's no doubt a top 5 pick so far.
