The Carmelo Anthony trade saga is finally over.

The Nuggets traded Melo to the New York Knicks tonight, a league source said. Denver gets Wilson Chandler, Raymond Felton, Danilo Gallinari, Timofey Mozgov, the Knicks 2014 first-round draft pick, the Warriors' 2012 second-round pick, the Warriors' 2013 second-round pick and $3 million in cash.

Anthony will go to New York, along with Chauncey Billups, Shelden Williams, Anthony Carter and Renaldo Balkman.

Anthony was not at the Nuggets' practice as the team resumed workouts following the All-Star break.

The era of the super-team is further reinforced ...

I'm guessing Harris is next domino. And considering how bad Denver wanted mozgov I'm saying the nets get him with a last laugh with Felton.

Now George Karl might actually be able to coach his team.

I don't see this trade as a positive development.

I still don't see the Knicks on the level of Boston, Miami, and Chicago..but they're close. They're thin up front and not that great defensively with this lineup. But their offense should be explosive. I like Melo. I hate Amar'e.

Anthony Randolph and Eddy Curry to the Wolves as well. 3-team deal.

I'd agree if I thought Melo and Billups were that good. I still think there's no way in hell they make it out of the East.

fuck, I knew what the headline would be before I went to ESPN. (NY STate of Mind)

they won't be close defensively, which is key in the playoffs.

True enough. But I'll be honest, it's not the knicks I'm worried about it's the precedent of players dictating where they want to play. If this is the new landscape of the NBA then the Blazers are probably sccrewed along with every other small market team in the league. If we see Deron, Howard and/or Paul force their way to LA, Miami, Chicago or New York in the next two years it's going to be very hard to remain a fan of NBA basketball

Melo and Amare are now far and away the highest paid, crappiest defensive frontcourt in the East.

I think the new CBA will attempt to fix this problem. As an aside, it's nice to see the East having more than two or three elite teams so they can beat the shit out of each other on the way to the Finals. The West has been a gauntlet of horrors the past 20 years.

 Over @ Realgm, most Knicks fans are pretty pissed off @ Dolan for gutting their team for a player who probably would've signed with them, any ways.

The Thuggets lost a lot of tats tonight. They may have to bring Cherokee Parks out of retirement to fill the void.

To be honest there's no that many big markets that can load up. To afford CP3 or Derron, the Knicks would have to hold a fire sale next season which would further kill their playoff chances.

Stern's gonna get involved, talk to Utah, "encourage" them to accept Billups/Fields for Deron Williams. He's got 3 days to make it happen.

Mamba, trust me when I say that Melo would have signed the extension. He equates money with respect. He wasn't going to leave money on the table. For the record, that opinion comes from a Thuggets assistant coach.

Solution: A new "cost of living" adjustment in the CBA where the Knicks, L*kers, Bulls, Celts and Heat get twice as much cap space.

What is the Knicks rotation now though?
