My kid was at zoo camp, so I had to go get her. Me, in my antique, RWD BMW with open diff got around without a problem around all the people that had no idea what they were doing in their fancy SUVs and AWD cars. The wife was smart enough to realize that she was out of her element as well, so she parked the Subaru downtown and took the Max, so I just had to go to Sunset TC to pick her up.
I love driving in the snow. Years of rally competition really help, I guess.

WTF? How can you not get around with a Subaru? Those things are beasts in the snow.....![]()
anyone know what Stanford road is like right now?

God Bless you chains!
Wrong tires. There was no snow forcast, so... it is still running the stock crap tires that come with them new, like the RE90. Sure, they have traction going forward, but the AWD does crap to stop them when it's slippery.
The BMW with the old rally tires, RWD and open diff will run circles around it.
I would rather be in a sport car with proper tires than an AWD car with crap all-season/summer tires - when it's slippery. If it had proper tires, it would an entirely different story.
hehe. Although, I'd much rather have Blizzak's, just didn't have the coin to spend on new rims (18" stockers).Do you have to have a facebook account to view it?

Now we'll have to wait until Saturday when they play all of the week soaps in a row and record it and not watch the ones during the week.Yah, tires would definitely cause an issue..
I purchased some new continental conti-sport DWS's, for the AWD hatch I got. The only issue I had was too much lead foothehe. Although, I'd much rather have Blizzak's, just didn't have the coin to spend on new rims (18" stockers).
The way I see it, this lady was just going to get stuck somewhere else even if I got her free. Here is my commute story from last night. I slowly made my way up Burnside towards Sandy. Some lady driving a black mercedes in front of me was just spinning her tires. After a couple of minutes of pushing her she just kept getting stuck every 2 or 3 feet. I looked back and now I had enough room so I just got back in my car and went around her.The way I see it, this lady was just going to get stuck somewhere else even if I got her free.

Martell Webster helped strangers get their car unstuck with a broken foot!
I did help her in my suit and tie... but it was clear that she didn't know how to drive in the ice and snow. Some drivers are beyond help. I pushed her car 30 feet and she KEPT getting stuck. Meanwhile, a bunch of other Oregonians are passing us without offering a hand.Martell Webster helped strangers get their car unstuck with a broken foot!
I drove by a business man in a tie changing his tire in the snow![]()

I just remember that I had to walk about 4 car lengths back to my car. She was driving a newer Mercedes. Tires were probably fine, but no chains. It was a solid sheet of ice there in between Union Jacks and the Doug Fir. I had to rev in 1st and turn my steering wheel back and forth to get any traction. I think she just didn't know what to do and I was getting frustrated.wow 30 ft is impressive. I would wager she had bad tires and/or no chains, yes?
I just retrieved my truck off Germantown Rd...people were definitely out of their element last night. It was like watching bumper cars. I saw 5 cars hit each other (and block the road) before I got sick of waiting and walked home...
It's funny when people try to turn a corner to fast and their car starts sliding forward and they don't let off of the turn! Or if they hit the brakes and start sliding they just stay locked on the brakes.
Anyone know how the roads are now? Any better?
