There is a third way: Durant and Westbrook are rushed back, and get re-injured about a month from now. Think Webster's injury and re-injury.
They are trying to get Westbrook back by Friday. They are saying they want Durant back by mid December. I would feel much better if we are still winning and Thunder loses a few more games.

Looks like Westbrook is closer than Durant. Seems like the correct take. A foot is a much tougher thing to deal with.
