The guy has dedicated his life to playing basketball, and that he unaware of the meaning of the word "contraction" isn't shocking to me. There are a lot of words that I might know that other people do not, so maybe I'm just used to not judging too much based on vocabulary.

That he would prefer to have the same number of teams but with more concentrated star power is actually a worse idea than contraction, but whatever.

His retraction was that he never said the word "contraction," because he didn't know what the word meant. No, instead he said the NBA should "shrink" the league and get rid of the worst teams. Apparently, he knows what "shrinkage" is.

He said basically at the end of his original comment: "Do not take Minny and New Jersey out of the league guys". I mean it is right there....

It seemed pretty simple to me, keep the history of those teams but ideally it is much more fun to watch Kevin Love around better players. Sounds like a pretty PC answer to me.
