OT: LeBron scored 41 again

It's way to early to say he's gonna be MVP. Usually have to have an impressive record also. If they're a one seed and he puts up as good of numbers as last year he has as good of a shot of being MVP as anyone.

6-2 ain't bad.

It never hurts an MVP candidate's chances to have quality teammates, and the Cavs are much improved over last year. Mo Williams is the best guard that LJ has played with, and Varejao is moving much better a year removed from knee surgery. Of course being almost 24, LaBron is still on the upswing too. They are a serious threat to the Celts

Yes but it's still real early in the season. Although really with the way he carries the team just about anyone could get injured as long as it's not him and the Cavs could still be a one seed.

Andy had knee surgery? I thought he was just sitting out for contract negotiations. Do I need to learn the game?

It's a wonder what a good point guard does for a team. Did you hear that Pritchard?

Mo Williams is a shoot-first point guard. He's a good shooter and works well next to LeBron since LBJ creates and dominates the offense, but he's not a PG in the conventional sense of the position. He actually could foreshadow what Bayless will become. Some PG skills, but a good shooter and scorer trapped in a PG body.

LeBron had a monster dunk tonight. Almost from the FT line.

Check it:

yeah lebron probably will deserve to win the mvp this season.

of course that's not really anything new as the mvp doesn't seem to have gone to the most deserving candidate lately. lebron should have won it last season, kobe should have won dirk's, and then lebron should have won nash's 2nd mvp.

Wow.. that LeBron dunk is pretty freakish from the free-throw line in a game-time situation. Scary stuff, and LeBron is always an MVP candidate every year, early or not.

That's a kick ass dunk. Wow. I wish he played for the Blazers. We would win 12 straight titles if we added him to our mix.

What would you give up? Roy/Oden for LeBron?

A big three of LeBron/Rudy/LaMarcus? Hmmm...

if the Blazers don't get there, wouldn't be awesome for the Lakers to play in the Finals against the Cavs and watch LeBron completely dominate Kobe and win the title?? I would be so happy.

If were anointing MVP's 6 games into the season. My vote goes to Chris Paul. 21 points, 12 assists, 5 rebounds and 3 steals a game. The only player to ever score over 20 point and 10 assists in his first 6 games of a season, if I'm remembering the stat correctly.

You're correct zags. Cases can be made for Kobe, Paul, and LeBron. LeBron is just so fucking dominant. He's not averaging the 10 assists Paul is though you get the sense that he could if he wanted to. All three of those guys are great players. After them, there's Amare, Joe Johnson, KG, Pierce.

Another thought: Tomorrow is a big game for Paul making his case since he's going up against Kobe and the Lakers. Late last season, the Hornets lost a big game to the Lakers and that killed it for him. If they won that game and the Hornets got the #1 seed, Paul would've won MVP over Kobe. If the Hornets lose tomorrow and we beat the Heat, we move past the Hornets and into 4th place in the West. Then it's time to start talking about Outlaw for MVP. {;o)

Paul did his part.

Biedrins, Paul and Joe Johnson are tearing it up for my fantasy team.

3rd time he's done that this season.

MVP?

A different take on it is that it's the third time he's done that in the past 4 games (twice against the Bulls, too). He had a slow start, but he's looking insanely dominant. If/when Ferry pulls a trade with Wally's expiring contract, the Cavs could become the favourites for the title (slight bias :P)
