Look at his FGM and FGA ... he's way more up and down than his scoring totals indicate.
Seems pretty good to me. He also draws a decent amount of fouls.

And why all the consternation? Surely the Nets are allowed to have ONE above-average player on the team.
I lost a lot of respect for him when I first heard him speak. I thought he and his brother were joking.
However, considering his experience, he's been playing pretty damn good basketball. I'll be around for a while, that's for sure.
Why?
I can't believe that I'm on the verge of defending Brook Lopez. Brook doesn't need anyone to defend him or make excuses for him. He is totally awesome. You're all looking for any little thing that's wrong with his game in order to somehow prove that oden is better, as if that will somehow prove how terrific Blazer fans are. Brook's success takes nothing away from Oden's ability.
He is also twenty-one years old--a year younger than Oden, I believe.

Brook plays 40 minutes a game because the Nets blow. He is double teamed every time he gets the ball, and is constantly hacked--again, because the Nets blow and the opposition knows he will get the ball as much as possible. He doesn't get any assists because every single three-point shooter on the Nets roster right now is injured (well, with the exception of Bobby Simmons, who is just horrible). He is the only starter not to be hurt, and the Nets' original starting lineup, even WITH Brook, is one of the five weakest offensive units in the league. He's forced to play soft defensively because he is the only center on the roster--there are only three healthy bigs, including him. Yet, despite this, he is leading the league in blocks--more than Howard, even. He takes too many mid-range jumpers, in part because the other two bigs--Josh Boone and Sean Williams--have absolutely no range whatsoever and he's been asked to spread the floor. He is also twenty-one years old--a year younger than Oden, I believe.
Yet he has already had two games this year with 25+ points, 15+ rebounds, and 5+ blocks.
Seriously, what is there not to like here?

My favorite Brook Lopez video is this one.. "Look, I found Blue!"
