OT: Missing plane possibly found

According to CNN large object that COULD be the plane was found near Vietnam. So far nothing confirmed.
 
Huh....someone on the plane sent a text, tracking back to the GPS coordinates of the IP address put the plane just south of Little Rock.
 
I didn't create this thread as a joke. There's 239 family's waiting for some closure so I hope it is the missing aircraft.
 
Sorry Rick, this is just playing like some media stunt for the return of the series, 'Lost'.
 
How in the world can two people board any commercial aircraft, with stolen passports, of which Interpol was aware of, yet the gate attendants did not bother to check?

Could this happen today in the US? With the event coming out of Kuala Lumpur, it is hard to say how relaxed Malaysis (and other countries) security is. CNN reported, so many countries fail to check passports for legitimacy upon boarding, yet check them closer upon landing in foreign countries, while having to go through Customs. Seem's they have it ass backwards. Both departures and arrivals should be thoroughly screened.

Here's something VERY strange, One of the passangers on this flight, An Australian man by the name of Paul Weeks before leaving his family for a one month job in Mongolia. Gave his wife Danica his watch & wedding ring & told her "In case anything should happen Give me ring to the first son that gets married & the watch to the other". Now my question here is, who the hell does that? And why. I mean that's like leaving your house in the morning for work & saying (for no apparent reason), "If I don't come home from work" etc etc. That just doesn't sound right. I mean just no reason for it.

This Mr Weeks is someone that I would DEFINITELY be looking at.

...I agree with rick, there's nothing funny with poking fun at the prople from the fine state of Arkansas...they have feelings too.
 
Day 8

I haven't seen this many theories, predictions and so-called expert panel discussions since the 2012 elections. CNN and Fox are broadcasting this stuff round the clock.

The only conclusion I have determined (actually reinforced) is to always fly on an US airline, piloted by Americans. The United premium is worth it in my book.
 
This is one crazy event....CNN isn't budging from it, even knocking off the affair in Crimea, to a back page story.

some strange stuff going on, that is to slow in coming out from Malaysia. The Chinese want more information from the Malay govt. So does the world.
As of late last night, after hearing the Malay Prime Minister's press conference, within an hour, the Malay Feds entered the house of the Pilot, after keeping it surrounded by soldiers and police for days.

Speaking of days, this one has me dazed, and confused. Sad so flipping sad, 1 or 2 people, bring down the aspirations, lives, and love from those innocent passengers. Grieving families left behind, their lives will never be the same. Life will forever change for the worse, for those remaining family members. Grief of a lost loved one, is far more painful, than anything we will ever experience in this life time. There is nothing worse than this.
 
I originally posted this several days ago when they spotted large debris in the water. Here's thought, take a fucking boat over to the location, get a CLOSER look and check it out. Holy shit!
 
We will see a lot of new safeguards emerge after this. The security gaps being discussed have been very shocking. Did you know that a pilot can dump cabin pressure to ambient....even at 25k feet and suffocate the passengers? I didn't need to know that, nor should one person can perform that task. We'll see cockpits become more like a missile silo.

wouldn't the air masks pop out first?
 
Apparently all of those features can be armed/disarmed in the cockpit according to the 'experts', not to mention potentially hacked as well. The issue is that these planes (modern Airbus and Boeing, etc) have been designed based on the assumption that the crew has the best intentions in terms of passenger safety.

An assumption that obviously is flawed in the era of global terrorism.
 
And with the United states being the biggest melting pot in the world I really don't see things improving.
 
Why the hell does Congress think we need to take over the Malaysian flight 370 investigation? Because 1 American was aboard? Sorry, but isn't that the Same distorted logic the Russian's are using in the Crimea (that we are protesting)?

...because we have hypocritically become the self anointed "Policemen of the World".

...and even with all the problems we have here at home, our government still feels compelled to force their misguided beliefs on everyone else.

The Mail reported that Malaysian authorities fear that Zaharie, who was at Ibrahim's trial, may have been upset enough by Ibrahim's imprisonment to hijack his own aircraft as a form of political protest.

Well isn't this an interesting plot twist. Hijacked by the Malaysian gay mafia?

My heart hurts for the families but it also scares & angers the hell out of me how things like this could even happen. I mean holy shit, is ANYBODY really safe today?
 
Safety is an illusion Rick. My family pet is a highly trained doberman, and there are weapons in every room. Don't surprise Mrs. Totus, she's pretty mean with her AR15. And I prefer not to go where their are crowds anymore...when we do, we have a plan

Fortunately we prefer being out in the mountains on horseback, or hiking in a national park. Done the concerts and games thing, riskiest thing I'd ever do again would be another WS in Yankees Stadium.
 
Day 10 and counting...

The conspiracy theories are getting exotic. Apparently there is a hajcker app called PlaneSpoilt That can control the avionics via the in flight entertainment system via a USB port. It has a feature called "visit the ground" which is a bit disturbing. No surprise that a plane could be hacked in flight.

Communication systems shut down simultaneously. Planes left turn was pretty programmed. Pilot had a home simulator, practiced low altitude maneuvers. Plane could have flown in radar shadow of another flight.

So may threads of data...
 
I am waiting to wake up one day and find out this is just ABC's attempt to bring back the show Lost
 
Australian, Chinese and now French satellite data being used. Anyone else notice the horrible resolution....no one wants to reveal the quality of their surveillance assets. Interesting that little effort is being placed on searching the northern arc...
 
Here's a thought, ALL planes should be made like the little black box since that seems to be the only thing that survives these crashes.
