OT: Nash Baby Scandal! (1 Viewer)

I'm sorry (not I'm not) that, you know, I'm publicly gay instead of hiding.

The point is that sexual orientation does not have anything to do with a good family, but only one orientation can legally form families. No matter how awful some are, they are legally valid and religiously sacred. And a same sex faithful couple of 50 years is not.

Your advice has been heard before. If you Negroes want civil rights, you can't sit in. If you ladies want the vote, you can't chain yourself to the White House. Well...

Who are you even talking to? Who said that you shouldn't be publicly gay? How does that have any bearing on this conversation? I think you're arguing for the sake of argument.

The point is, this is a thread about one NBA player supposedly sleeping with another NBA player's wife. How does being gay, gay marriage, or gay rights play into that in any way, shape, or form? You don't see how you're injecting your own agenda into this thread, essentially hijacking it?

My advice has nothing to do with any of those examples you just listed. My advice is to stop shoving your beliefs into other people's faces... If this were a cat forum, and this thread that we are currently posting in was about two cats in the same house who couldn't get along, would you feel the urge to bring up gay rights and gay marriage?

if you want to start a thread in the OT forum discussing gay rights, I'm all for it. Feel free. I encourage you to do it. Nobody is censoring you, but it's ridiculous that you feel you should bring up this issue every time something about heterosexuals is discussed.

EXACTLY my point! It is absurd to say, based on this couple (if allegations true) that all heterosexuals are incapable of good marriages or strong families. It is equally absurd to say that same sex couples are incapable of good marriages or strong families.

I knew when I posted someone would make exactly the point I was looking for. Thank you, PapaG, for pointing out, unwittingly, the absurdity of stereotypes.

I thought my comment on the Nashes being the recognized leaders of the heterosexual movement was quite witty. Did the GLBT community miss our national hetero election? It came down to the Nashes versus the Obamas. Some in the hetero community, at least in the newsletters that I receive, are claiming that race played a factor in the Obamas losing the election.
