I would like to thank dviss for offering up some insight into this discussion. Much appreciated.

simple fact is that suspensions would actually deter flopping, and thats the whole point
fuck, suspend refs if they fall for it too, maybe that would untwist dviss from his rage spiral
It will in the regular season but in crucial games in the playoffs it'll still be there. I'm sure a 275k hit to amare for a 1game suspension will hurt.
umm, they would then get suspended in the playoffs, i fail to see your logic...unless you are specifically talking about game 7 of the finals?
I'd pay to see that.I say everyone caught flopping gets punched in the sack by Nic Batum.

I think the best way for the league to do it is after the fact. All questioned flops get reviewed by the league, and if you flop you get fined a substantial amount as well as suspended for a game without pay. That will stop it ASAP
Do speeding tickets deter the rich? Nope. They just pay them and keep speeding.
I agree the best and most realistic penalty for flopping is to ignore it and let the flopper lie there on the floor while his man scores on him. If you are going to fine someone, fine the refs for calling them. Review the flop calls every week. Fine the refs on a graduating scale based on how often they award the flop. Of course none of that will happen because the league is full of shit if they are claiming they are going to start calling a fair game.
