Great news. I hope he helps the Nets.
I'll just let this one go.........If they're so desperate to need him, they're beyond help. Dude is a total stiff.
People like to under play it, but it really is a big deal. Jason is the only active American athlete one of the four major sports to ever admit he is gay. I'm sure there have been hundreds of gay baseball/basketball/football/hockey players over the last 100 years, but Jason is the only man to own up to it. Hopefully, this leads to other athletes coming out and then, in the hopefully near future, it won't matter anymore.

I completely disagree. I don't think it's a big deal. And that lack of it being a big deal shows how accepted being gay is.
Wasn't the Nets owner like two ranks above Putin in the KGB?A Russian owned team signs an openly gay player.

We're getting there. Not there yet.
MORE: sports have been in the dark ages on this issue. Can you believe there is only one guy who has done it? Well two now with Michael Sam. The wall is coming down though. More athletes won't feel like being in the closet and more importantly, young gay people have more visible gay people to show that they're not alone. There will be less young gay people committing suicide cuz they'll have role models out there saying they can choose any career they want and they won't have to hide in the closet. That's why it's a big deal, maxiep. I'm glad it's no big deal for you though.
Repped.I think this was just the NBA wanting to beat the NFL to having the first openly gay player.
What other 7' guys are out there?
Collins never put up great stats, but managed to start a few seasons for the Nets when they had Carter and Kidd and went deep in the playoffs.
FWIW, I've seen his name mentioned a lot in articles discussing teams' possible big man signings.
A former Nets "hero" signed by the Nets who have only vet minimum to sign guys?
0 points, 1 rebound, 11 minutes, 5 fouls
Gay or straight, he's not a good player.
The Nets gave him a 10-day contract.
