Broussard is saying Hedo/JRich/Earl Clark to Orlando for Vince/Gortat/Pietrus and a 2011 first rounder.

The Magic are looking really nice if they can flip Rashard for Arenas after this deal.

Not sure that Arenas is really an upgrade for them. He's horribly overpaid, and can't shoot anymore.

So at the end of the day Orlando will have Nelson, Arenas, Hedo and J-Rich on the wings ... That looks pretty good on paper.

Man, I don't know if they're really that much better. Hedo is washed up, Arenas is.... a headcase. Richardson is a good pickup.

Rashard and VC are pretty awful this year. Getting Arenas and JRich are a big upgrade. Hedo isn't much of an impact wither way.

does it improve the suns? i think the best player in the deal is jrich but carter, pietrus and gortat helps them.

why cant we ever make big trades?????

I do not think they are outright tanking, just getting out of the il-advised contract of Hedo. Richardson is the best player in the deal, but getting Gortat helps. They really took a step down from Amare/Amundson in the offseason and this helps slightly.

If any team should blow it up, it's Phoenix. Losing Amare was the death blow, and I really don't see them making the playoffs at this point. They should move Nash and start rebuilding.

Will be interesting to see if Hedo can recapture magic in a bottle (huh huh) by handling the ball more and playing with a dominant big...

I think this helps PHX more than originally thought. They were desperately in need of a big, and they got a pretty decent one. And the VC-Nash mash can be pretty decent.

AANNND, they got rid of the Greedo contract.
 
Does Orlando play tonight? Wonder if ant assistant coaches will have to dress?

I think they're done. Vince is a shadow of himself and Richardson was the only bright spot on that team next to Nash.

I like this trade for both teams.

Hedo was continuing to slide statistically and his contract was just too big for him not to produce. He goes back to Orlando where he can get clean looks for 3 and can still feed Howard.

There should not be too much of a dropoff in Richardson's numbers and allows Orlando the flexibility to move Lewis.

Gortat should be more valuable in Phoenix. I do not expect anything different out of the Frenchman. Carter should be atleast as useful as Hedo was. Earl Clark was not working and the Suns get a 1st out of him.
 
Makes me wonder if Orlando is completely done making deals.

It improves their cap situation post lockout, they are in win now mode and they'd have Miller and Arenas as two really strong contrasts at the point guard spot, with the Hibachi probably in the role of sixth man. For the Blazers it makes them younger and gives them an intriguing young big who may or may not be worth a damn, but it could work out OK.

I don't know. But even though Andre isn't the floor spacer that Nelson is, he's probably slightly better defensively because of his size and savvy and could you imagine the best lob passer (with Camby not too shabby either) paired up with D12? Nelson is also a little bit more of a score first guy than Dre and I'm not sure having two point guards (Arenas and Nelson) with that mindset does them any favors.
