There's some sort of provision where you can trade a player immediately as long as he's not part of a package. I don't really know the details myself. It's always seemed to be a strange exception to me, but I have heard about it a number of times.

This is where player options are so helpful. The player can choose to get out rather than get passed around like... well like Q-Rich.
