I don't understand why they said one of the reasons Lillard didn't make the AS team is because we play in a time zone where the games end while people are asleep. People say this all team but THE LAKERS PLAY IN THE SAME TIME ZONE and no one ever holds that against them.

You're kidding, right?

To make the playoffs, they'll probably have to win between 45 and 48 .

The current 8th seed (us) is at .500. Why will the 8th seed need 45 let alone 48 wins?
And no first round pick this year no matter how bad they finish? Please say this is true?
It's true

I 100% agree with this statement. Remember the time they were like 9 games under .500 and Robert Horry said we will be above .500 before the allstar break? Yeah they won a fucking title that year! Fuck!!!!!

Incorrect. That team lost to the Spurs in the second round.

Kidding about what?

About not recognizing the obvious implication that the Lakers are the fucking Lakers so people watch them, while Portland is a shit-town somewhere near Alaska nobody gives two fucks about.

Dude, besides the undeniable fact that the Lakers have a very impressive NBA history, LA is the West Coast media capitol. So of course, they're going to have a lot more attention, and that rule about the time zone doesn't come into play for them.

Ding! Ding! Ding! Winner winner turkey dinner! Tell him what he's won.

Definitely true. But his point still stands. The argument that Portland is a West Coast team so nobody cares is invalid.

Nobody cares about Portland because it's a small, self-satisfied fringe city filled with reefer, overpriced coffee and smelly Travis Outlaw jerseys that hasn't been out of the first round since the millennium. It's had unmarketable stars like z-bo, Aldridge and Roy, and the one big name guy since Pippen broke down as soon as he got off the plane. Lillard is changing that, but it is what it is for now.

I like it, but I realize time zone has little to do with it getting little national attention.

Did you read the point I was responding to? He was talking about the time zone. I said time zone has nothing to do with it. And then you said you "realize time zone has little to do with getting little national attention." I'm confused what you're trying to say. You started off disputing my post, but ended reaffirming it?

Geezus!!! It was ME who said the time zone argument was invalid. It was named as a reason in the linked article and I said I didn't understand that argument since the Lakers are in the same time zone. Then I was asked if I kidding which makes no sense. What I said was RIGHT and mook backed me up. It's a stupid argument.

You were like, "Doesn't it seem weird?" and we were all like, "No shit, sherlock!" and now you're like, "But I totally knew it the whole time!" and now I'm like, "Then why didn't you say so the first time instead of acting ironic because sometimes you really do say stupid shit without irony and it's tough figuring out irony from truthful insanity with you!"

Ok, 41 wins.

That means they'd have to go 24 and 16. Not likely.

Rarely does anything from KS make any sense to me, so imma stop trying to interpret.

I didn't say "doesn't it seem weird?" I was expressing my frustration with people who use that excuse.

And the question remains "why do they say that?" I remember them saying it was a travesty that Portland and Seattle got the top two picks in 2007. Everyone said no one would be able to watch the games. No one would've said that if the Lakers for the Clippers got those. It makes no sense.

Butt, butt, butt

I don't agree.

All of those players in that grouping are fantastic, generational talents. There's just one way to really separate them. The ring is the thing.

It's a shame no one has ever gotten to see Blake Griffin play. Most people are asleep.

6 mins left in the game against the Jazz and Kobe only has 12pts but also has 12 assists?!?

Not only does he have 14 assists now, but he's also only taken 10 shots in the game, and the Lakers are about to close out a blowout win over a team with a much better record.

Maybe there's a lesson in there?

Was saying it without saying it... figured the "analysts" will be breaking down this game all weekend ad nauseam from that perspective. I don't think it's that simple though.

The last 17 years, the Lakers have always played well when Kobe shares the ball. When he goes for 30+ every night, they've been no better than average, sometimes God awful. He shares the ball tonight and it's their best win of the season.
