OT - Real tweet from a Minnesota state legislator:

Welcome to our community

Be a part of something great, join today!

You can tell from his quote, he obviously has a deep seeded hatred for white American born centers.

Oh wait, that's you. Never mind.

Seriously, can you not connect the dots in his comments? 76.3% of NBA players are black, the highest, by far of any major North American sport. If 70% of NBA teams fold, that means more young black men on the streets and an increase street crime. He's implying that just because these guys are black, they would be criminals if they couldn't play basketball for a living.

BNM

I took it differently. No NBA means more kids on the street instead of watching the games. Then there is that midnight basketball thing that Democrats fought so hard for, claiming it would keep same kids off the street. No NBA, maybe nobody wants to play street ball even.

And Minnesota elected an actual clown to the senate.

A clown for sure. It will be be real interesting to see if he can get reelected.

you sir, are absolutely correct. Had he or she been a black Democrat, it would not have been even brought into question.

Ha! And Divss would be quiet, waiting for a better opportunity to spring into full disgust.

Do you just make shit up as you go along? I never said anything like that. I said the reason why anyone black is racist is because of slavery and the continued racism we experience from White people. My WIFE is white so I'm not sure how you could ever say that I'm holding a grudge because I point out racism. I don't hold a grudge against anyone I meet nor do I think that they need to be responsible for what their entire race thinks. Keep that red herring.

This is what you said:

"And racism that comes from us only comes because we've been enslaved and killed for hundreds of years. Ya know. That ol' chestnut."

& this gem

"None of us would have any reason to feel angst toward Whites had they not captured, killed, raped, and enslaved us."

So no, I am not making shit up as I go along. I am trying to get you to understand the complete irony in what you post and how it does nothing to solve racism, but everything to do with keeping it alive. You are continually drawing a line in the sand. It's the hypocrisy of what you're writing that makes it just sound like you're playing a "tit for tat" type argument while leaning on this so called "white privilege" you keep manufacturing.

And you're full of shit to say that I don't have to worry about being pulled over for no reason. You have no idea about me. You're generalizing. Just like White Republican was. There's a difference between racism and generalization or stereotyping.

You missed this one, "most racism comes from white people."

He's obviously never been around Native Americans, they're the most racist people i've ever seen.

The Lone Ranger and Tonto are watching a horde of Indian braves bear down on them in full battle fury. “Looks like we’re in trouble, Tonto,” says the Lone Ranger to his pal. “What you mean ‘we,’ white man?,” Tonto responds.

You are wrong, and your assumption is blatantly racist. It's a dig at all NBA players, who are famous for skipping school, wasting their fortunes, and having no job skills to fall back on.

Most racism comes from White people. And racism that comes from us only comes because we've been enslaved and killed for hundreds of years. Ya know. That ol' chestnut.

All humans are racist. It's an evolutionary protective intuition in all of us. Therefore most racism comes from Asians (Yellow people to you).

White privilege at it's finest. No racism is alive and well. I was called a Ni66er just 6 months ago (in Cleveland OH).

You don't know what you're talking about. We are still being killed to this day in Florida for playing our Music too loud and the MOTHERFUCKER gets convicted of attempted murder for the kids he didn't kill but NOTHING for the kid that he does kill. GTFO.

I'm not saying racism doesn't exist. There are all kinds of idiots in this world. It is the exception, and not the rule. Pretending it's institutionalized is utter bullshit.

And please don't talk to me about white privilege as if I've spent my life in lilly white Portland. I've lived in neighborhoods where reverse racism was alive and well. I've been called plenty of names, been physically threatened because of my skin color and had a racial epithet spray painted on my apartment door.

Life isn't always fair. You can continue to be a victim of it or shake it off as the actions of profoundly ignorant people not worth your time.

Not really. He gave reasoning as convoluted as you see in this thread, and randomly tossed in the word "apologize." He said he apologized only to the "good" blacks in the NBA and that he shouldn't have said it was all, just most.

This is the type of shit-thinking and outlook on the issue that will cause it to never EVER go away.

Discussing the issue should never go away. Writing it out of the history books will not make it go away. Forgetting the government lynchings of my grandparents' era won't prevent it from recurring as soon as Southern state governments see fit to encourage lynchings again.

Here are new articles I've read in the last two days.

A healthy black socialist lawyer becomes Mayor of Mississippi's biggest city, then mysteriously dies 8 months later.

Here's a little taste of how different the U.S. was when I was young. Most articles then were quite different from today's conservative (supposedly liberal) media.

Did you read the article?

Despite his tendency for partisan rhetoric, Garofalo departed from conservative orthodoxy on at least one major issue. Last year, he was one of four House Republicans who voted in favor of legalizing gay marriage.

That vote complicated the re-election campaigns of the other Republicans he joined in support of same-sex marriage, and two are no longer seeking to return to the Legislature. But Garofalo won his local GOP endorsement last month and has plenty of money banked for his race.

...

Garofalo is the second Minnesota legislator in the last year whose tweets attracted national attention and accusations of racism. In June, Democratic Rep. Ryan Winkler of Golden Valley apologized and deleted a tweet that referred to Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas as “Uncle Thomas” following a major ruling on the nation’s landmark voting rights law.

Rep. Dan Schoen, a Democrat, said he’s heard nothing in Garofalo’s past public or private remarks that could be regarded as racist.

Because that seems like something a white conservative republican would post.

The guy isn't a conservative. He voted for gay marriage in Minnesota.

Still, what the fuck? What an idiot! I suppose he thought this was funny?

But can the guy defend the point?

That's different though. White liberals are allowed to smear blacks with racial slurs so long ad the black being targeted isn't a fellow liberal.

How was he allowed? He deleted it and apologized. Garofalo doesn't even feel the need to delete his tweet.

Apparently you believe that dviss is gay. Why do you expect a black person to give a shit whether a racist goes easy on gays?

Maybe the racist state legislator voted for better consumer protection against credit card companies. Maybe he voted to protect the red-eyed snapping turtle.

Do you realize the subject of the thread? What do unrelated issues have to do with it? In propaganda, this is the old diversion technique.

My give a fuck meter on either of them is at zero. I really shouldn't have even commented. Mea culpa.

He sure seems to support civil rights. It's counter to the kind of things some people are drawing from what he posted on twitter.

Read his twitter account. He hates civil rights. He ridicules everyone involved.

Read his vote on a civil rights bill.

Or watch a movie, whichever you find to be the truth.

So he's a liberal. Okay.

Let's see how Surface makes a smilie.☺
