I'm looking for a used engine to put in my 2001 PT Cruiser. Any suggestions for wrecking yards I should try or should avoid? The closer to Albany the better...

This looks like a good site - http://www.ptcruiserlinks.com/forum/

I would ask there, it wouldn't be that expensive to ship.

Also, just for shits and giggles there are kits to convert your PT Cruiser from FWD to RWD w/ adding a Chevy small block. Do you know any good mechanics that you can bribe with beer? You don't have to go thru DEQ down there, right? Replace the engine w/ a CSB or Hemi and rip out the pollution control. Hot Rod that bad boy.

Also contact your local community college auto mechanic lab and see if they will rebuild the engine you have. It will take a little longer but they will do it for parts only. Free labor! Thanks Obama!

Also if I remember right your car is just a dressed up Dodge Neon. Might be cheaper to look for a used one of those and swap the engines. Neon's don't go for much.

But I am recommending you spending $16k+ on the car and installing a new Chevy Small Block. Go big or stay home.

The engine in it is cooked. Maybe I can get 'em to replace it if I find a decent used one...

Hey Wook, B&R has one for 850.00..dunno, but but if interested ask for Ashley Menkey. Nice gal and easy on the eyes as well as being on the ball.

You need to go to the credit union and get a loan, together we can come up with a nice game plan of what to do to your PT.

My credit is so bad that if a loan officer hears so much as the first five digits of my Social Security Number, every person who has an application on that loan officer's desk will have their credit score reduced by 60 points.

Would a community college/auto program actually work on your car? I'm not sure I'd trust that (but than again, I don't trust most mechanics)

That's a daily power in D&D 4.0
