OT: Rose Done for the Year

I've traded e-mails with a bunch of buddies of mine from Chicago today about this. Most have said something to the effect of, "You're a Blazer fan. When it comes to knee injuries, you know how bummed I am."

By all accounts, he's a good guy. This sucks.

I agree. This is really unfortunate for the game of basketball. It is also a pretty big blow to my Ripcitytwo fantasy team. I felt a bit iffy drafting him early, but he honestly looked amazing in preseason games. I hope he can come back and not become the next Brandon Roy.......

I hope Rose can come back to form, but if he can't . . . it's one thing to lose your all star player or to lose the #1 pick to a knee injury . . . but to lose a young PG who is coming off being the youngest MVP of the league . . . well I can feel Bull's fans pain.

Bulls fans are losing a guy who was all three of those things.

But only one guy... that we lost two to me feels worse, but only just. My heart goes out to Bulls fans.

Yeah it does suck. Our problems make me think of Houston with Yao and McGrady, that's probably more hearbreaking than our duo. Both proved to be elite players in the NBA. Just shows how often superstars careers end in their late 20's. Each year is precious. I think Wade will join that club in a year or two.

The elite stars in the league change more often than we expect.

Noah and Aldridge would be the best front court in the NBA. It would make the Blazers serious contenders for years to come and your stressing out about dealing CJ?

Yes, because CJ can be on our team for the next 9 years if we want. Noah/Aldridge could go to LAL with K*be in two years if they want.

EDIT: Noah's goes to 2015-16, but the point applies.

For once, I agree with BGD. If this deal were actually on the table, I have no doubt that Neil tries to negotiate it down a bit, but if push comes to shove and it's CJ/Truck/MyLe for Noah or no deal, I think he pulls the trigger.

No.

As long as LeBron James is playing with any player who has a pulse (Chris Bosh qualifies), he's the best front court in the NBA.

Not only that, it's not like Noah is a difference maker on this team.

Would he help? Sure. But he's not someone who makes this team a title contender anymore than they are now.

I really have to disagree, having the ability two have two C's the quality of Noah and Lopez, (and keeping them fresh) would IMO be a "difference maker" given the offensive firepower this team already has, the ONLY question I would have would be chemistry, but I have a feeling Noah would mesh well

Yeah, I also think he's definitely a difference-maker - a situational difference-maker. He alone will not make a bad team good, but he will make a good team gooderer and maybe even great. He's the sort of player teams go get when they're good and are looking to take that next step to really compete with the big boys.

I think Chicago fans needs to consider another jinx. Similar to the Cubs. The Sam Bowie Jinx. I think the basketball gods have decided that their lucking into Jordan is good for 100 years. Think about it…..their high draft picks since then either did not work out, got hurt, or were traded too soon. Brand, Jason Williams, Chandler, Curry, Thomas and now Rose…………Something does not feel right……….it may be a jinx

This moves Lillard up one spot in the league hierarchy.

Hmmmm; I hadn't thought of that but yeah I guess he goes up the league PG rankings. Lillard and Matthews could both be all-stars this year in the East but in the West they have very little chance. Who are the all-star east guards? Injured Dwayne Wade? Kyrie Irving of the 4-10 Cavs?

Sucks, I really like Rose.

If they're in tank mode I'll be happy to take Jimmy Butler off their hands.
