the poor guy has a negative offensive win share this season, and a negative win share in general. he is shooting 22%. he is averaging almost 5 TO per/36. he is luke ridnours backup. his rebound percentage is way down. he is having back spasms, and mental issues regarding his shredded and reconstructed knee.

oh yeah and

19-2 :lol:

to look back and think: Kahn had the #5 and #6 and #19 pick in the draft. He selected Rubio, Flynn and Lawson. He traded away Lawson for the pick that became Babbitt, who became Webster.

Do you think the franchise would've been better with, say, Rubio, Steph Curry and Taj Gibson? Or Curry, Jennings and DeJuan Blair?

Ouch

Maybe the 37 y/o PF they drafted last year can ease the pain a little.

at least the busts we draft are legally eligible to be drafted. Not 26 y/o guys from the Qatari league.

seriously, jason williams (white chocolate) is a great comp

bad PERs high assist percentages, poor shooting, flashy passes

he finally figured it out around 27 years old, cut his turnovers down, and was an above average player for a few years

i wouldnt harp on any team for bad drafting, the blazers after all

yeah, the Blazers haven't exactly been stellar drafters the last 6 or so years.

While they traded for the pick that got them Brandon Roy and Lillard, they traded for LaMarcus and Nic Batum.

However, I think Nic Batum, LaMarcus and Lillard is a btter core to build off of than any 3 that the Wolves drafted.

Although, potentially, Love/Pek/Rubio could be fun. But so far they've kind of been a disappointment .Much like Brandon/Greg/LaMarcus.

this brainiac dude is a bad troll
so james harden was sefoloshas backup last year
dohk

the we have one player with touch inside (pek) and no one who can shoot the three. hurts his assist numbers, and hes obviously not the same guy he was last year, but he will get there. and we only had 3 guards yesterday, so that sucked. and probably 2mrw.

...and he sure as shit can't shoot on his own. Basically, he needs great offensive players around him to look like a good PG.

youre ripping us for drafting a 2nd rounder?
not to mention oden is a 79 year old

Yes, I'm ripping you for trading into a pick of someone who isn't eligible. Not that Kahn couldn't have just sat in his chair for 20 more minutes, then said "call up the 26 y.o Qatari League kid and offer him rookie minimum." I don't think the other 29 teams were scrambling for his rights, and it's not like you just had a bogus pick left over that you wanted to piss away

but in reality, I'm ripping you and Kahn b/c half of the members of this board knew he couldn't offer Nic a contract this summer when he bluffed, when the Wolves fans said it was something we weren't smart enough to understand.

no, hes been doing fine without love

fine = negative WS?
fine = less than a 2/1 assist/turnover ratio?
fine = 22% shooting?

years of ineptitude have really lowered your expectations, next youll be bragging about being below .500 :lol:

"we're not as far below .500 as the Wizards are. Do you hate John Wall, too?"

Rubio is a good player and an asset on any team. He is young, has shown he can play at the NBA level and have an immediate impact.

But there is no way it is a lock that Rubio will be an elite NBA PG. The biggest hurdle is he can't shoot or finish. He does one thing really well, assists. But excelling at one aspect of the game (maybe leadership another aspect?) isn't going to cut it in this league.

Also his durability is at issue, IMO. He is not Rudy, but his body type reminds me of Rudy. If Rubio ever learns to take it to the basket (which you have to as PG), he is going to get pounded night in and night out. (should of bulked up during rehab).

I'm actually pulling for the guy, but I don't see Minny as some kind of rival or team to hate.

going 19-2 against them will breed this sort of apathy

Sad but true. Utah feels much more like a rivalry to me. Almost feel bad for Minny, until they come here and spew their stuff about a team that never has been and probably never will be (outside a surprise year here and there). Obviously they need a new GM, but they also need a new owner.

Utah should seem like a rival. Remember the Malone/BGrant wars in the playoffs? Heck, even back to the early '90s the Blazers and Jazz had some great games and some great playoff series.

Minnesota is an afterthought in the NBA. I do feel a little bad because my mom's half of the family lives in Minnesota, I spent a month of each summer there, and have aunts, uncles, and many cousins living in the Mpls/St. Paul area.

I am still a big Twins fan, though. Kirby/Herbie/Bruno 4 life!

Maybe Rubio shouldn't be playing until he's healthier then?

Total random moment here. We're coming up on 20 years since JR Rider was drafted.

What's with the Dikembe finger wag? I'm serious. Rubio looks like he should probably rehab for another month or two before going back into games ... or at the least he looks like he's another month or two away from being effective.
