I love having Lillard on our team its just laughable that fans here don’t respect the best players of other playoff teams.

no more laughable than the fans here who don't respect the best players on their own team.

Yeah his outside shooting sucks, but with Matthews, Batum, Wright, Mo shooting the three I think our offense would still be just as effective. If CJ comes back he is another 3 point threat. Plus LaMarcus can make long two’s. Rubio isn’t a spot up shooter but he is an amazing distributor. Remember all the easy buckets Andre Miller got for this team? The problem with Andre Miller is we paired him with Gerald Wallace and Marcus Camby. Rubio needs teammates who can shoot which we have.

The defense would be so much more effective, even if the offense was the same or slightly worse I think the defense prevents so many more points from the opposition we would win more games.

Now on a team like the Pistons I’d rather have Lillard. They desperately need 3 point floor spacer but we have so much outside shooting already it’s not as critical.

Other playoff teams? Is Minny a playoff team?

Yeah. Yeah they are. lol. At least this year they will be.

The only thing certain was last year's champion. Minny of all teams must prove they can stay healthy in order to contend for a playoff spot. They had a pretty good season a couple years ago and then love went down. They failed to make the playoffs that year.

Well, no one can predict injuries, so... let me amend it. They are a playoff team barring injuries. That's the same for a lot of other teams, so we can't single out Minny. They are a damn good team.

If healthy yes. They have been more injured than other teams the last few years so I believe they are more likely to get injured again but until that happens they are just as dangerous as other playoff teams.

Shit, 23 pages & 575+ posts on Rubio. I guess majority of Blazers fans would trade Lillard for Rubio. Can't remember the last time there was 23 pages about Lillard in a Blazers forum. Makes us seem a bit jealous.

I will agree that minny looks tough and barring injuries should make the playoffs. I'm just not sold on their health. They are prone

At least peeps aren't posting random questions about what type of flowers you like to smell.

The Wolves situation seems to be close to the Blazer situation. They both have all star power forwards that have to decide if they are going to stay with their team or go else where in a couple of years. A lot of that decision will probably be tied to the success of the team this coming up year. Both teams have exciting young rookies PGs that look to lead the team. Both teams have an exciting cast of players but not really playoff proven players. Both teams are relatively thin and can't withstand an injury to their star or key players, while both teams have had more than their fair share of injuries.

Is Love heading to LA? Is Aldridge going to Dallas? Is Rubio or Lillard to be the first to make the all star team? Will Pek continue to show signs of wear tear each year or be rejuvenated with the monster contract? Can Lopez play more minutes than he ever has in his career and make it thru the season? Which team will be the first to break the playoff slump?

I put my money on the Blazers . . . but I'm a little bias.

Rubio is polarizing.

Lillard is not.

Can there be 23 pages about Lillard? Unless he falls off the map or gives reason to, not yet.

Beat me to it. This isn't 23 pages of Blazers fans praising Licky Lubio and wishing we could trade Lillard for him. Quite the opposite. Anything that generates argument generates hits, posts, and pages. Not much to argue about with Lillard.

That, and the fact is that Lillard is a Blazer, Rubio is not - this is pretty simple, but it's a big part of why the thread exists and why it continues. Of course, posts by lame-ass TimberTrolls helped inflate the post count.

I believe this thread was created for the sole purpose of trolling the Minnesota Trolls and a few of the fans here who like/liked Rubio.

That, and people bumpng a 7-month old thread when Rubio finally has a game where he shoots above 25%.

Shit, Lillard gets talked about in every game thread and most threads related to the team, the roster, the future, etc. His name gets mentioned several orders of magnitude more than Rubio's here, it's just that all the Rubio opinions, pro and con are in this one thread. Opinions on Lillard are spread across hundreds of threads.

To take it a step further, Lillard goes 1-15 and there isn't a huge thread about it, where Rubio goes above 25% once, and it re-bumps a thread.

I like Rubio's game, but his shot...

Yep, it's like I said earlier in this thread, Lillard is a good shooter who occasionally has a horrible shooting night. Rubio is a horrible shooter who occasionally has a good shooting night.

Yeah, I thought I was making that point by making the simple statement that one player is a Blazer, the other is not. All Blazers players are talked about through several threads, as opposed to opponents, where they are mentioned in a game thread, and sometimes a specific player or team gets their own thread.

I think the Rubio thread was the offspring of being raided by the TimberTrolls, and their incessant bashing of Lillard while hailing Rubio as the second coming of Jesus.

I like when a player or team accomplishes something a couple times out of the norm, and we bump old threads to beat our chest (even though the bumping of the thread is usually unnecessary and ridiculous).

I don't understand why KS would bump this thread, he was one of the posters saying Rubio was garbage (worse than Sergio). What am I missing?

I find it hilarious how much hype there was around Rubio. Some people were just all over his nuts.

Blame the refs all you want but Rubio is dominating Lillard. For the season he's on pace for the worst shooting performance in modern NBA history -- 21 pts on 50% shooting so far.

Is this how Rubio tells the NBA that he should be the one in the All Star Game?

Congrats to Rubio. For one night, he isn't the most overrated player in NBA history (though he owes the refs some flowers or something).

Not.

Swayed.

Scurred. Very much so. You've been holding this card, ready to play from deep. Wowzers.

Not.

Swayed.
