Van Gundy is right. This is going to backfire on league officials, big time. Just wait until Silver gets a load of Green's foot as a negotiating technique for the next CBA.

Adam Silver has done some good things for the league. This is not one of them...

Draymond gets away with too much bs and this pushes it to another level.

Less than 24 hours after Dahntay Jones' suspension, this just SCREAMS preferential treatment.

BNM

I want to say I'm surprised, honest I do.

That's exactly what this kind of ruling encourages. If the NBA isn't going to hold players accountable, then the players will do it themselves.
God I wish. The NBA want from physical enforcers to crybaby, ball-kicking bitches like Green. Bring back the type of dude to knock someone like this out.

Well, the NBA is doing everything they possibly can to get longtime fans to give up and stop watching.

This preferential treatment, along with preferential reffing, rigged outcomes - well lets just say the camels back is surely weakened.
Personally, it's not going to take much more of this bullshit for me to say Goodbye to this WWE-Ball Horseshit.

OKC should kick Draymond Green in the balls FIRST PLAY. Start five end of the bench goons, and have one of them kick Draymond in the nuts. If I'm the owner, I dare the NBA to suspend my player.
Nope Thunder aren't Warriors and moreover they are playing Warriors. If any of their players kick Warriors play then NBA will stop the game and end the series handing Warriors the win.

Well, this makes me more interested in the Playoffs all of the sudden. I want OKC to knock these guys out in 5 games. And I want Toronto win it all. No one has given Toronto a shot all year long.

Yeah I was mildly favoring Thunder at the beginning of the series but right now I can see myself cheering for them hard. I want Thunder v Raptors.

This raises the obvious question: What are the qualities of a good ball-kicker? Should he be a taller member of the team, so he can get power into his kick? Or should he be shorter, so he can sneak into traffic and pop one off under everyone's noses? Should he have quickness, or just leaping ability? Should he be the most expendible member of the team? Which Blazer would make the best designated ball-kicker?

Draymond Green is medium height for a player, which may be the best height. After thinking about this issue for years, I've decided that the best Blazer for the job is my man, Luis Montero.

C
Mason Plumlee--great energy, but high center of gravity, especially chin
Ed Davis--good mean face, but thin, no kick power, falls over on stilts
Chris Kaman--slow, by the time he'd rotate, his man would have crossed his legs
PF
Noah Vonleh--hips wide as a Buick, makes a better door than a window
Meyers Leonard--legs can't reach to kick when you're 12 feet from your man
Cliff Alexander--power moves, my 2nd choice
SF
Al-Farouq Aminu--can't stop once he starts at you, a real animal
Moe Harkless--short arms and wingspan, would swing and miss
Luis Montero--gets all over the floor, when offered the ball, he's there in a flash
SG
C.J. McCollum--runs sideways sometimes like he's lying down, more grabber than kicker
Gerald Henderson--perfect form but misses target, even in the urinal
Allen Crabbe--catch & grab artist might do well at this, good BBIQ if you know what that means
Pat Connaughton--need a catcher with big mitts, not a pitcher who likes his mound
PG
Damian Lillard--if the place doesn't start with O, doesn't know what to do
Brian Roberts--been around the block in league, might secretly enjoy it

I'd like to say that Green not getting suspended surprised me but it didn't. The NBA is an entertainment league and to suspend 1 of the top 5 players left in the playoffs in a pivotal game you'd have to leave the league with their hands completely tied to do it. This was a palatable decision by the league, it upsets OKC fans and people who are generally upset at the league in general but the average audience member who wants to watch a good game is better off for Green not being suspended.
On a separate note, It doesn't make me think that the league is rigged by any means. There is most definitely preferentially treatment but I don't think the refs nor league try to determine outcomes to games before they are played.

A day later this is still unfuckingbelievably believable.

Fuck The NBA.

Put that on a T-Shirt.

Even for the NBA this is a low blow.

And the NBA was all ready lower than the gutter.

I'm sorry to say not one of the local sports writers had the ovaries to say that Green unjustifiably got away with this. All of them said right decision. Fucking homers.
One writer did say that GSW has now become villains. You think? The Warriors whole PR was they are a team you can love without worry; they won't embarrass the fans or the city of Oakland. Good luck with that.

Oakland is far from the most dangerous place in the world, but being within kicking distance of Draymond Green may be.

Exactly. I have become an NBA conspiracy theorist, and this just SCREAMS that the NBA, given the chance "manages the series", just like the officials manage the games.

Fortunately, I don't think the NBA gets a chance to do this too often.

The NBA has been doing crap like this for years and their TV ratings keep going up. So why should they be worried? I personally never bother to tune in to anyone but the Blazers, but I would tune in to see a team I hate get beat.

I think everyone likes a fair game, but people are now emotionally invested in their teams.

One thing the NBA does not seem to want is violence to tarnish their "brand", so the only thing that will put a stop to this is violence. They'll learn that if they don't give justice, the players will. That's the whole reason socities have justice systems.

I still think the most dangerous place in the world for the NBA is Seattle. That's why they allowed OKC to steal the team from there.

It's a shame that Green gets away with this, but I still can not bring myself to route for an organization that stole a team from an entire city.

If I'm the Thunder, Draymond would get close-lined on his first drive to the hoop, or repeatedly hit in the groin on accident.

If Green had kicked him much harder, Adams would have had ovaries.
